Design may be subjective, but anybody who thinks the Hyena and SZ are attrocious should never be let near anything remotely to do with aesthetics. Fortunately that takes care of 99%, Unfortunately it leaves 1% of ppl who the world forgot to castrate and shoot at birth.
Might just be me, but that post went straight over my head!Black S2K said:
I have to agree; ItalDesign brought some very clever industrial design to the masses way back then; Sud, Golf, Delta, Uno...
A lot of them are still consulting to major manufacturers.
The strangest is perhapd Pininfarina; from aching beauty though the 1960s to 1980s, then the Peugeot 407?
WTF were they thinking?
407 wasn't done by Pininfarina - was done in-house by Peugeot, hence the rot setting in with their styling across the range. A lot of them are still consulting to major manufacturers.

The Fulvia Sport Zagato, Alfa Junior Z (the one posted earlier in this thread is STUNNING), Hyena and DB7 Zagato are some of my absolute favourite cars.
There was also a beautiful Vanquish convertible concept done by Zagato in 2004:
I also love the Autech Stelvio for it's absolutely mind-bending nuttiness.

Zagato have made some of the most beautiful cars ever to grace the earth and they have also built some howlers, you can't always get it right but I don't like the proportions of their latest effort, would probably impress in the flesh, you can't really judge a cars looks until you have seen them in the flesh and not many of us have been lucky enough to do so.
I can now see how these points would be lost if they were raised in the other thread.
With the piece on Kahn in a recent edition of CAR Magazine, perhaps there will continue to be a place in the world for Zagato oddities?
I checked out the Hexagon website and looked at their two Zagato Astons. I was unaware of the Chapron DS Coupe. I'm not sure where the sales blurb is going by saying it's raison d'etre has gone due to modern roads.
So Chapron was chopping about with DSs in the 60s, and Clapton has paid Ferrari to design a car just for him. Perhaps Zagato and the like will be around for a while yet?

I'll disagree with some posters - I think the fulvia zagato is a thing of beauty.
Quite. The Flavia Zagato, on the other hand, may well polarise opinion even more (I still like it).sjabrown said:
