Hello evryone
After saving up enough cash i'm ready 2 upgrade my car. I've narrowed my next car choice down to the GTI, R32 or CTR, I need it 2 seat at least 4 people but I would also like to use it on the odd track day (any different car suggestions welcome). Would just like to see your opinions on what u think is the best choice. Cheers
(My budget is about £11000)

HTH. Leave it out, r32 got the laziest engine ever produced . It ain't nowhere as great as people make it out to be and it ain't really fast and it weighs a lot

I just got an R32 two weeks ago. Its a flawed car yes, but its a special car.

No hot hatch should have a non turbo v6 IMO Edition 30 GTi would be my pick

GTI +ve's -Well balanced handling -Decent Ride -Sounds good for a 4 pot turbo (think quieter Megane R26R) -Feels NA and has bags of torque from idle -ve's -Love or hate looks (unpainted bodykit can look  on some colours) -Not as sharp as a CTR to drive -Percieved by some as boring and/or try hard -Not as economical as you'd think R32 +ve's -Sound fantastic -4WD traction -Usually very well specced -Feels more 'special' than GTI -More of a tourer -ve's -Quite heavy and 'nose led' handling -Thirsty -Pretty heavy on fuel and tax -More of a tourer CTR +ve's -Great handling (current Gen less so than previous breadvan shape) -One of the best gearboxes in a hot hatch -Hilarious engine that sounds incredible on cam -'ve -Electric steering is incredibly wooly -Can't do Touring as well as the Golfs -Feels pretty much like a 1.4 Civic shopping car under 6,000rpm -Hard to enjoy VTEC at legal speeds.

Depends what you want out of a hot hatch. If you want a practical alternative to a sports car, the Civic. If you want a cheaper alternative to a an executive saloon, the Golf. It won't be long before turbocharged four pots are all you can buy, so I'd have the car with the six cylinder engine or the naturally aspirated screamer and enjoy a bit of character while you still can.
You could just test drive all three and buy the one you like, though. That usually works for me.

Thanks 4 the tips. Yeh ur right about test driving, i've only tested out a GTI so far and i felt it was a v similar to a normal golf which didnt make me fall in love with it. And yeh i'd love to have a v6 over a 4pot but ive been told it makes the golf heavy and not much quicker thn the GTI, Yeh ill have a go in the other 2 and see what i think.
(Sry, not a fan of the 1series Ranger 6)

It's more economical than I thought. I really struggle to get more than low 30s out of mine on motorway journeys. I think my long term average is 26.9. Driving it in the same way, my old 1.8T Octavia vRS used to get high 30s to low 40s.....I do wonder how truethfull that actually was, but I was a little bit surprised how different the economy was between the two. Perhaps I just need a lighter foot though :P
