42 quid for wiper blades? ...and on a 6 month old car!

No wonder they say 40 per cent of owning a car goes on servicing.

Glad I have MINI... even more glad now after reading above.
All service cost is inclusive on my MINI JCW, which makes me realise now just how much I must have saved over the last 3 years.

Service flashes up I just book in (even get free courtesy car if I haven't time to hang around waiting) and not a penny to pay.
I also have a Mini JCW, while the servicing plan is great value they try to get their money in other ways. I was quoted over £1200 to replace my brake discs and pads all round, for example...

I wondered who it was on the way past Nantwich on Tuesday morning Riggers - figured there couldn't be many people with a foot-wide PH smiley on the boot!!!

I was in the wife's MkV GTi, 3 cars behind you at the M6 junction and then ~10 cars behind you up the A-whatever!
Did the smiley wave to you? biggrin

Good spot! And it will say "Volkswagen Group UK" as the first keeper on the V5 so the next owner may never know its real history. Standard practice for press/ demo cars

Well they're not exactly going to register it to every magazine and business it went to on loan are they? They'd end up selling 1 year old cars with 40 owners on. Nothing underhand going on at all that I can see. It'll be no better or worse than any other secondhand Mk6 Golf IMO.

I realise that. Its the same with daily rental cars as they often just have the manufacturer name down as the first keeper on the V5. Its buyer beware!

What's it's 'real' history? Has it been raced in the Nurburgring 24 hour, etc?

Well it hasn't exactly spent 20,000 miles just going up and down the M4 Corridor!

I'm not trying to say its a bad buy nor is there anything wrong with the car. Its just the next buyer will probably be told it was a VW Management car rather than it was used by a magazine.

It would be a bit like finding out your OH used to be a lady of the night...
