The Grammar Nazis pick up on really minor things, such as apostrophes in the wrong place. What you typed was clumsy, lazy English. The sort that is becoming all to prevelant. "too" HTH

"too" HTH For what it's worth, I am uncomfortable with the use of "what you typed". It really should be "what you had typed". I find it, in a word, lazy.

I bought a metallic Audi A4 which had key damage down to the metal on both doors and the rear wing and did an invisible repair using an aerosole can and a bit of clear lacquer and a 99p scratch remover pen off eBay and I also used some compound, I Guess the total cost was about £5 to repair.
What I first did was compound out as much of the damage as I could then sprayed some paint into the cap of the aerosole and used a good quality small paint brush and built up the paint over a period of time. It took about 3 coats of paint in the deep scratches to build the paint up, it also helps if you use a hairdryer to dry the paint. For the smaller scratches you will find a scratch pen will do an invisible repair without to much work.

OP - if the victims are in Kent, there is a very good place called Scuffbusters in Tonbridge. Ive had them do two of my porsches for minor stuff but they do more major too. They understand the need to work to a price - doing some touch up stuff for me (with a touch up stick but much better than i could have done it) and doing a full smart repair on other occasions. Def worth a call. They will give you an honest assessment of what might be possible. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that OP, I had my car damaged recently. Still not managed to find out who did it. A guy who posts on here had his Aston Martin damaged recently, honestly those pictures still live in my memory!
Pistonheads admin - Can you please install an ignore feature for members to hide other members posts? I've spent a couple of minutes reading pointless posts about grammar, which are tiresome at best.

Sorry to hear about your car.
Maybe ask in the speed, plod and law section. You might get some more constructive replies re the legal side of things.
To those who want to pick up on OP's use of English,

Oh FFS, if you are going to criticise, at least get it right. The correct formulation is 'that which you had typed". Sorry to hear of the OP's experience.

Sorry to hear of the OP's experience. No, it should have been "that which you had typed". Spot the difference.

Can't believe this thread. Op posts a serious item about a car being keyed and smart alec PH readers decide to take the P*** by picking holes in his grammar.
I really give up some times and wish some of these people would grow up !!
Condolences to the OP, I cant understand why people key cars, but we do live in a very petty society these days....

would having the car wrapped be a cheaper solution to a respray? Then if the scum return to key it again you just replace the wrap on that particular panel.

A mate had his A8 keyed the length of the car a couple of months back, a local lad who has a franchise with "Chips away" fixed it for a couple of hundred quid. He also fixed a dint in the rear quarter for around the same price.
I have had work done on my own car by the same lad and the quality is as good as new.
Hope that helps.
