I expect this is the thread where we discover that 95% of PHers are monarchists biggrin
I'd say they're at areal high at the moment and probably 95% of the UK are moncarchists - let's face it, they certainly pay their way now and are a pleasant salve to the swathe of egomanics running the country!

I'm sure their popularity will wax and wane as it always has throughout history.

80% apparently, but only something like 45% support Charles to be the next King.

If that's not enough to put you off the Queen I don't know what is!

I knew that HRH can and does drive but just not so enthusiastically or so many miles.
My late father did many a tour of duty at the Palace and Windsor Castle back in the late 70's/early 80's and witnessed HMQ's somewhat 'enthusiatic' driving style, and yes she was very fond of her V8 Rover's.

Excellent little video! I didn't think it was possible to switch gears so quickly in a Defender - even the new ones can be a bit ropey at times. Top marks HRH!

She really was shifting there at one point! Further proof that slow drivers are losers - most un-pensioner like.

In an age of emotional incontinence and 24x7 dirty tweeting linen tedium, she’s a good example of the benefits of respecting yourself by keeping your mouth shut and keeping your private self just that – private. In over half a century, she’s never once made a fool of herself – few public figures, royalty or not, manage to last a month these days without putting their foot in it to some extent.

And has been about that for the past 40 years.

Charles should let one of the PH lot (or a PHer.. Memememememe...) loose on his Astons rather than p****ng about with buildings. That would do wonders for him round here.

Thats what Philip is there for (and all the better for it, most of the time).

So that confirms the quote "If you're in your 20's and not a liberal, you have no heart. If you're in your 40's and still a liberal, you have no brains."

Is there not something missing from this picture?

Instructions for the transfer box...................but no shifter for it.

Or has her Maj been trialing a prototype Terrain Response System since 1981?

clap Great stuff, further justification (not that I needed it) for adding a Defender to the fleet.

Apart from mention of her days in the ATS, why are so many referring to her as HRH?

Liz hasn't been HRH for what, let me think... must be something like Sixty years!

It's HM. As in HMS, HMRC, HMP etc.

nerd

As for her Landrover pilotage, I believe this was her en-route to this morning's proceedings:

Maybe, but it seems 95% don't know the difference between HRH and HM - serious monarchical disrespect going on.

The first V8 110s have knobs either side of the handbrake for the diff lock (vacuum operated) and low range.

I can't find it, annoyingly, but if you think HM is a bit of a demon you should see Philip drifting the st out of a freelander while Trevor McDonald tries to remain calm and interview him.

Edit: here we go, from 7:00 onwards
