The roads can be horrendous-its a bit of a barrier to a good historic Targa revival.....
Yep I fear so as it isn't as simple as a bit of resurfacing and filling in a few potholes. The volcanic terrain, combined with flash flood type landslips means they're fighting whatis potentially a losing battle. There was one short stretch which had been very freshly retarmaced and it was heaven, but I bet if I went back now there would be areas of subsidence. Shame.

To be fair, they used to patch it when the race ran there, sometimes the day before....brave drivers.

Nope..too dangerous. I have talked to some people who won it and will write something when I have it sorted outsmile
One additional piece of info: they are reviving the Targa Florio as a historical race like the Mille Miglia, and I think it will grow to be a big event...
It is why I asked! I thought someone will be reviving it soon...

This is a great thread and thanks for posting, I'm really enjoying it.

Can I also say that your photographic composition is excellent and so are your candid portrait shots.

I did forget to include the greatest cultural export of the US to Sicily. SHows up in every souvenir stand, and he even has a dedicated store in Taormina. I refer ,of course, to Il Padrone. I left the guns and took the Cannoli...........
