so , there can't be ONE place where bikes are quicker than cars ?
As was mentioned last year, a moto-cross track is probably a safe bet for that.

No tarmac circuit that I know of, which hosts bikes and cars, has the bike as the faster lap holder.

I suspect quite a few car-only PHers think that is exactly how all motorcylces are ridden.

I think this issue is only going to be resolved for certain when they put in a width restriction on one part of the track so cars just couldn't do a lap (given the organisers understandable reluctance to allow much heavier missiles to race past the homes of hundreds of people just to score internet points). Until then the two sides of this argument will continue to belm at each other.

there isn't, really.

this thread, in its own way, sort of explains religion.
Off topic, but I'm voting your second line as my internet post of the month. Early I know, but I'm pretty sure I won't see anything else I like as much as that until at least July.

Much as I love cars, I really would not want to see the TT go down the car route...and I'm not a biker either.

For me, the Tony Pond lap in the Rover Vitesse remains one of the all time great drives (approx. 170 bhp in an exec barge not renowned for it's handling prowess or competition background, and FWD). But it should remain a rarity - perhaps every fifth year they could allow a sponsored lap by a well sorted road car.

Thanks for the replies. After posting I discovered that it was released on DVD in a similar way to Tony Pond's attempts.
