Love these cars.

I could never trust the 2.2 engine though. Had one on my driveway in some godawful Vectra, impeccable service history, new chain oil feed etc and it still went, smash the valves, cracked the head and damaged the pistons.

Still. I'm sure I was unlucky and such problems are over reported.. You could always buy a replacement engine for buttons I suppose.

I'd have one.
One thing that makes a supercharged vx220 2.2 more attractive than the turbo to me is the fact the engines are available for peanuts. If you push it too far and blow it it's not a stupidly large bill for a new lump.
If you don't already have one, having the engine out is a good excuse for a blower as well I suppose!

It'd always strike me as rude given how cheap they are not to buy a spare engine to do the work on. Then you at least always have the original...

Recognise where you are, bridge to Sheppey - If I wasn't at work I would pop over to offer useless advice.

Had mine 6 years and loved my VXR220 so much that I shipped it down to Cape Town with me when I moved to SA last year. Then got so frustrated about having it there, while I was in Jo'burg, that I shipped it here. Arrived Monday this week on a low-loader. Time for a Kyalami track day...

Why bother when a £2,500K supercharger conversion ups the 145 to 250BHP?
