E55 (kompressor) or B5 RS4? Similar prices now.

Where's that Q Car thread gone? Debadge this and this is as close to the definition as you get, especially if you put up some Peppa Pig sunblinds in the rear windows and other such family paraphernalia.

I love the ethos of the Audi RS/S cars, particularly in avant form. I'm currently looking to buy a C5 S6 (which I realise is the unloved 'black sheep' of the family), amd it has to be an avant for the cool factor.
That said, it's a huge price for this featured car, especially as a good RS6 can be had for £15k.

I very much doubt you'll find anyone else in the UK that knows the cars like they do. That B5 you have is a really nice looking car in your pics, did it belong to that <insert any word you like> JayKay too ? I don't think JayKay owned the car, I believe it was Audi's press car Was that not what they gave him for doing the free concert at Le Mans however many years ago? (bloody great concert too) My Favorite Le Mans to date, and JK did a great concert mid race (and mid circuit). All he was paid for the weekend was full Audi hospitality and a 1 off RS6 (I think it was the paint that was 1 off) - which he later got caught doing about 120mph by the police.

Love the look of these, lot of bang for your buck and as said, if looked after they seem to be a good investment. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3922164.htm

I have an unhealthy attraction to fast estates but thankfully the choice is small and they are mostly out of my price range !

New C6 is good buy at the moment but the box is not as involving or rewarding as the SMG so I plumped for the M5 instead.

DaveFlave said: Absolutely! A friend traded an Amazon for a red V8 Avant, only to trade it back a few months later for another Amazon! Unbelievable! Still while he had it he gave me the keys... I was shocked at just how fast it was, jeez! Amazing car, superb sound track, monster brakes and handling but he just didn't "get it".

It was late, I'd had a couple of glasses of wine, I saw a 'mature' Audi wagon, I figured maybe £4-5 grand's worth on a good day... so not 'shed' per se but certainly didn't expect it to be worth quite that much. TBH I only have a passing interest in Audi's post 90s cars so all the various S/RS/S-Line nomenclature doesn't really mean that much to me other than it is hotter than the regular 'A' cars.

Believe me the box is good....IMO.....lots of options(full auto, sport mode, paddles, tiptronic with stick)....suits the car well...and even better mapped. I have no issues with my C6 box....and its seems bullet proof compared with the C5, with mapped cars putting up to 900nm through box with no issues.

"the fact it was only available in Avant form adding to the kudos and harking back to the days when RS models had a real whiff of skunk works about them, rather than being a fancy flagship model"
Exactly - who can tell any Audi coming towards them these days esp Sportline v RS models...
Moving on...had a 2001 Avus Silver model - 1 of first bact into UK. Simply superb car (great seats) and with Piano Black trim. But the whole flattened rims debacle with Audi really damaged all faith in them. Car tramlined alot but was fast - 'allegedly' 268kph came up on the speedo on the autoroute section from Rouen to LM just after they opened it and peages were in place...
RS6 also had same tramlining problem but sounded superb
