Absolutely ace video, glad I don't have to use a trailer on a regular basis, my mate had a blow out on his at 60 few weeks back, only he was carrying sheep, not a pretty site! #lambchopsontheM60

Nobody had mentioned how dangerous those old E30s are. What about the poor rear axle?

Seriously though, another great video. My tip to anyone interested in driving...do the same. However if you are just interested in cars, which is fine, continue to buy technically amazing cars and drive them at 2/10ths of their abilities.

Looks like great fun, but I had one of those 325 e30's on the road and it was tail happy enough in the damp, I bet it's pretty interesting in the mud! That oopsie in the photo it had looks pretty severe mind :s

Possibly my favourite CH video to date - loved it.

Off to eBay now - I need another E30...

Agreed - top video - can't wait to see him competing - the spin he had looked genuinely scary!

In my opinion the E30 has one major problem, way too many turns lock to lock. Occasionally I would get...lost, where is straight ahead again? Not good. Fly in to a corner off the throttle, oversteer starts to develop, let go the steering wheel, grab the wheel again, add a little more lock....yee haa...now where was straight ahead again?

I always read on here that the m3 rack is too slow and that people replace them with z3 racks?

I don't think there's a video in this series that I haven't enjoyed.

Great vid and looks like a fraught day before and after.

I hope Dan got to have a play as well.

Shame you couldn't make Abingdon, would have been a good shake down.

Great video, looking forward to my rally training this weekend! Sort of makes up for not going to Le Mans... almost.

Brilliant video, really enjoyed that! I find myself fantasising about taking my GT3 on a rally track... hmm probably not a good idea...
Then it will have to be in France, Belgium, Germany, etc The MSA aren't enlightened enough to allow them over here. They would much prefer you to rally a boring shopping trolley!!

So are we to expect an entry in the BMW Challenge then?? And there's Tarmac action at Epynt.... wink

I found myself saying "Come on baby!" to my computer monitor at the 3 minute mark biggrin

Great video. As you said Chris, this is 'real' motorsport and good to see how pretty accessible it is.

Nothing like good prep!
Seriously good fun. Wanted a 2002 rally car for some time now, lighter shell and not to hard to get 150 bhp. Top fun this muddy stuff!

Ahh, that takes me back to when I started rallying - borrowing knackered trailers, tow-vehicles breaking down, inadequate preparation - all great fun!
If you thought the practice was fun wait until you do a real event, that's a whole different world!
Think I'll have to get a rally car again, I keep looking at buying a really good road car, like an M3, but you just can't use it properly on the road. Track days are OK, but no substitute for real motorsport.

Seriously tempted...
Reminds me of early '80's my Fiat 127, my mates Mini, Hillman Imp, Marina and a disused army camp wink
God we were a bunch of hooligans... kept it off the roads angel, not outta the trees though I seem to remember!
