I just can't face the hassle of converting my scooter to LHD, so no, we should stay as we are!

you would have to restrict all roads to 20mph for about 4weeks to try and cut the amount of crashes.

Samoa switched to RHD (drive on the left) back in 2009 mainly because the flood of second hand cars from Japan made it more popular than trying to source LHD cars.

Why? The most civilized people in the world drive on the left (~73 countries).

Cheers

I've often thought why don't they do that, however i always come back to the same conclusion:-
1) It would cost the country a LOT of money, so would be a non starter.
2) Yes, it would reduce car manufacturing costs in many ways, but this would simply add to their profits. You don't honestly think the consumer would benefit at all do you.

I'm actually in favour of driving on the left.

Face for Radio said:
Thousands would be killed when idiots go the wrong way to everybody else and the inevitable crashes that would ensue.

There are enough old people driving the wrong way down carriageways as it is, even when they've been driving the right way for years, imagine the confusion when they're made to change over.
Surely they will then be going the right way, therfore not a problem?

is this to try and help the number of people born outside of the UK learn our road rules ?

number of them driving on wrong side, or looking the wrong way, even when walking they seem to for cars coming in wrong direction

anyway if your that desperate to drive on the wrong side of the road go down to the Euro Tunnle at Ashford as you are then in France with out leaving England

Remember the old Rover SD1 shape had a horrible symmetrical dashboard design so it could be swapped from RHD to LHD on the cheap.
Hence the nasty air vent on the passenger side that appeared to be plonked in the middle of nowhere, but when in LHD or vice versa, the steering column would be there instead and just swap over the instrument binacle accordingly.
