The Ford Fiesta is the most popular car in the UK.
And with good reason. Most people in the UK aren't petrolheads, they haven't got big budgets to spend on cars, they don't care for something that handles brilliantly at 6/10th never mind 10/10ths. All they want is comfort, mod cons like air con, satnav, an interior with a bit of design flair and they want something that's cheap, practical, reliable and not completely hideous to look at externally. To that end, that's why it's a popular choice in this UK - it simply works for the requirements. Although I don't drive one I think it's a fine little car.Ali_T said:
Music is purely about personal taste, never bring sales into it.
And that's where you're wrong my furry friend. Music is about communicating. It's having a form of conversation, in this case musician to listener. Therefore it stands to reason that if some-one sells a lot consistently ie more than being a one-hit wonder it's fair to say that whatever it is that said person or act is communicating is being enjoyed by many not to mention the act probably knows what they're doing.Ali_T said:
That's just a measure of how many gullible people have bought something based on the PR money spent on promotion and nothing to do with talent.
So following your train of thought, you're saying ALL pop music is crap? Do you even know why pop music is called "pop" music? To write people off as being gullible for buying it en mass implies you're far more intelligent than everyone else - does that make the millions who bought Beatles/Pink Floyd/Queen etc records stupid too? If you think that's the case then good luck to you, but then I'd say you're an ignorant tt personally.Ali_T said:
We get that you like him.
Where did I say I liked him? Oh, that's because I didn't. I said you can't argue the stats. Ali_T said:
Personally, I think he's awful. Yet another anodyne pop act that holds no interest to me whatsoever.
That's well within your rights to say but that's simply your opinion. You just can't imagine the immensity of the fk 56 million people, Will himself or his bank balance do not give regarding it.Ali_T said:
Now, I must go listen to more Devin Townsend, you have soiled my musical palate by even mentioning him.
Musical palate? Oh please. As a musician myself I think Devin Townsend is a excellent guitarist although I prefer listening to Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen or Joe Satriani if we're going talk about great guitar players of that generation. However I also am a music producer and I think Will is very good at what he does too. I don't have to like him to acknowledge that!See, I can be objective both with cars and with music - you evidently can't. Sad really.

I suppose you must be another multi milionaire who grew up in a deprived area and has a very humble backround and has worked so hard to get where he is and is now helping your community by building your own car. You really are a complete fool!
What part of "He had the car built for him" do you find difficult to understand? He has NEVER built a car. Please point me in the direction of the evidence that he has helped "the community" by setting up a factory employing deprived youngsters to build cars.
In fact, please point me in the direction of the evidence that he has helped his old community in any meaningful way, ever.
It is a publicity stunt, a sad one at that, but he has fooled some of the people and is exploiting his "community".
The fact that he may have some talent, even though questionable, does not stop him being a total knob.
BTW, is a backround the same as a reachround?

And how did he accumulate so much cash? Pure luck? No, talent! He is one of the most talented music producers in the game right now and if you don't accept that FACT you are a FOOL. I don't even like his music or style or car but you have to be a very ignorant person to deny someone who has sold millions of albums and developed new young artists the respect he has earned, anyway I like cars not pop idols!
^^^^ This. Let's not even mention breaking music sales records at a time when people don't really buy music as much as in years gone by. To dismiss the producer of an act who have had simultaneously had Number 1 and 2 on the Billboard Top 100 (one of only 11 people to do so in music history), won 6 Grammy awards and sold 56 million records as being crap is arrogant and total nonsense. Everyone can have opinions but you can't argue with the stats.
And to those who think he dresses like a tt - I suppose that Ziggy Stardust era Bowie, K.I.S.S. or even Whitesnake represent the pinnacle of good taste and decency in fashion by famous musicians, right? The man is an entertainer, dressing differently to the norm comes with the job!
As some-one said earlier, haters gon' hate...

Using expressions like "haters gon hate" and "you da man" is sufficient for me to believe that some people are far too easily influenced by what they see/hear/read in a desperate attempt to fit in with popular trends and those around them.
I stand by my earlier comments.

True that! (See what I did there?) "Haters gon hate" is definately a number of steps removed from the Bard. I stand by my earlier comments.
