Fuel aside.....how much more bork prone is an X300 XJR....
I'd ruled them out in insurance grounds but the quote i just got is very very appealing.....only 100 odd quid more than a standard 3.2 or 4.0 car....
Nowt more than a cooking one. Unless somebody had taken the 'charger off and put it back wrong, like I found on mine after I bought it. (This would of course be evident from a test drive if you're in anyway a better buyer than moi)I'd ruled them out in insurance grounds but the quote i just got is very very appealing.....only 100 odd quid more than a standard 3.2 or 4.0 car....
So... JFDI
If so talk me in to it!
My Chim did 15 round town (if careful!) and managed low twenties on a run. What are we looking at with the Cov Cat?
Oh and does it "feel" quick? i'm guessing 320 should tranlate in to a back pushed into the seat situation...

1-2 accelerating, 9-12 around town, 21 absolute best @ 60-70. Awful. My Chim did 15 round town (if careful!) and managed low twenties on a run. What are we looking at with the Cov Cat?

And no, it didn't feel that quick. Figures about same as the Fiat Coupe 20vt I had at the same time, and also same as the Mk4 LS. Both feel quicker. Remember, the blower's working all the time off idle, so you won't feel it kick in.
370 V8 is a better bet as mentioned above, but then they are more troublesome.

Can be, I agree.Even they don't feel all that quick, but they are - it's because the delivery is so linear you don't get a sudden extra shove.
My old one was on AT last time I looked - had all the right stuff done.

I'm glad onboard beverage consumption is a subject close to all our hearts.
Next week I am taking my daughter from Kings Lynn to Wigan and back in one day (around 350 miles) - if I can find the right device to enable us not to have to stop more than once per journey. All suggestions, for both male and female requirements, welcome. Its called a diesel and its what you need. However only 4L V8 Audi and 5L V10 phaeton are acceptable.

Ah I was looking at one of these a while ago, when someone said they were 'bad' I didn't realise just how thirsty they are! With that and my boots of lead, I used to average 13mpg. Scum fuel for my next one I think.
I was always too scared to press the 'Average' button on the OBC. But 12.9 used to appear when I pressed it by mistake. Mostly round town or out for a [short] blast, admittedly.
250 mile range realistically, for about £120 of unleaded. Exactly the same as a 4.6 RR, but at least that could go off road and carry / tow lots of stuff.

3k is a bit steep for that IMO. Also the suspension look very wrong height wise. that looks like its been raised by 2" all around! They must have a huge of 'back to black' knocking around their workshop as the car is covered in the stuff!!Edited by r129sl on Monday 8th October 22:42

Classic FM sounds fantastic on the Bose ( the first owner was to mean to pay five grand for the Bang and Olafsson option)
I prefer to use my Bose to listen to Radio 4. Nothing better for engaging the brain. Mind you, Bang and Olufsen stuff is supposedly mostly Phillips under the hood! And the B&O home hi-fi kit was described to me by someone in the know as a functionally pretty lifestyle brand for women but of little interest to serious hi-fi enthusiasts. So don't feel too disappointed that you don't have little B&O speakers popping up on turrets in the cabin! If car manufacturers really cared about in-car audio they'd be sourcing kit from the likes of Krell/Sonus Faber etc etc. But only hi-fi enthusiasts would really appreciate/pay for that kind of stuff. And to most of us, it makes little difference.
