I think there was a thread on here some time back where Tom Hartley Jnr popped up and defended himself pretty badly when someone was complaining about a Lambo they had been to see at his place. I'm not much of a twitterer but when i've been on for a browse TH Jnr and his brother don't come across particularly well. Sadly I'm not in the market for cars that cost a couple of hundred grand but if I was i'm not sure i'd buy from them.

Even at £2500 it seems like a good buy, lovely combo of exterior and interior colours (although I'm partial to hearing aid with a black dash) and full ginger spec.

I emailed that 750 owner and he couldn't provide any history for the car. Apparently the previous owner was a garage owner and didn't log any work. Spidey senses tingled at that.
Apart from that, the seller sounded like a genuinely nice chap and very honest. I just can't afford to get something like that and for it to fall apart the next day

Sell valuable bits and scrap. Can't go too wrong? Cheers, EM Could cobbles be the new grass? This location would makes anything look classy!

Interior could do with a black steering wheel, but at a bag you can't be so picky!

Wouldn't bother me particularly. What horrific damage will have been caused by going 6k between oil changes? I'll tell you - none. Even with 2.5k a year travelled - that's enough to keep everything lubricated. We'll have to disagree then. It's not the mileage between the services that worries me, more the time period. You think one thing, I think the other. Ho-hum.

My 12 year old 7 Series has 7 owners I think and it's not had a penny spared and was sold as an approved used in 2009! It's absolutely fine. In much better condition than other examples with far fewer owners.

In much better condition than other examples with far fewer owners. I think my point is that, all other things being equal, I'd be more nervous of a 7 owner car than a 2 owner car. When that car is something a little niche and different, with a slight reputation for being a bit borky, and expensive to fix, I'd be more nervous. The combination would mean that I would only travel a short distance to view something like the W8 mentioned, as the chances are higher that it is a pup. I might not be, but you'd have to really like them to travel a long way to view it. That's all...

Almost certainly because they buy it thinking they can live with the fuel consumption, then a week later find they can't....... It is amazing how many large engined cars you see being chopped in after 3 months - even at a loss which would pay for a LOT of fuel!

On an old barge it is what works (or doesn't work) at point of sale which counts. You can't buy them in internet fantasy land like this thread and judge them on paper - they need to be purchased in the old fashioned tyre kicking way.
