Check MyTyres with a reg number. Cost is between £50 for budgets right through to about £270 for OEM Michelin rears. Continental Sport Contacts are on mine and they seem pretty good. Could get a set of those for about £600 all in at MyTyres then a bit more fitted.
Saw a bill in a client's accounts for tyres for a 2001 745i - full set £1060. Not sure what make, but knowing him they will have been a premium brand. Hopefully cheaper on less powerful versions, but generally worth bearing in mind when lusting after larger engined barges from BMW, Jaguar etc that wide low profile rear tyres can be very expensive. I just bought an A8 with 18 inch wheels rather then one with 21 inch wheels, as the low profiles on the 21s would have cost a fortune (never mind trashing the ride too)Quietlybonkers said:

that's quite a lot. a set of PS2's on my dads E92 M3 is usually around the £1300 mark IIRC (fitted). daft when the rears (usually >£350 iirc) last around 15k miles or so i think.i don't think i'm going to replace the Dunlops when the time comes on my car, i think i'll go with some middle-level tyres. i'm trying to save money to change cars in 18 months time or less. probably Falkens or something. luckily i can get a set at trade price due to knowing someone in the trade (about 70-75% of normal cost) so that should save me some further dosh. to be fair, the dunlop sports are holding up well, they've done 17k miles now and have around 4-5mm left so probably won't need doing for quite a while yet....knowing my luck around the time it's due for a service and MOT and no doubt new brake discs/pads too

.
I got the 4 Conti PC2 for the w124 from Kwik Fit, formally a Hi-Q tyre shop, fitted for less than ordering them, having them delivered then going out and getting them fitted from an online store. All within an hour and a half of randomly dropping into the shop.
Although i did get over 33% off rather than the advertised 25% after some haggling had taken place. £250 aka £62.50 per tyre, instead of £378.

Someone doesn't know their advertising campaigns.
Someone's quite proud of that fact.......Black circles for example are always more expensive than other local tyre shops and online shops in my experience. I don't know why anyone would choose to buy from them.

70% of the normal cost at your average tyre fitter = 10% more than the internet price.2 rear tyres as fully fitted from my tyres are £297 for the E92 M3. this guy got him 2 rear tyres (exact same type and size etc) fully fitted cheaper than that. that would be £594, he got them for £520 so still not exactly bad is it.

Michelin Tyres / Car / Michelin SuperSport Pilot Michelin Super Sport - 265/35R19 (98Y) XL TL £250 each delivered from camskill
265/35R19 98Y XL (AO) FR TL Continental SportContact 2 £242
265/35R19 94Y (N0) FP TL Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric £225 each
they don't seem to stock pilot super sports which are the replacements for PS2s effectively IIRC - meant £293 not £297
