Slate Green outside with Slate Green inside:

How old are those pics? Noseying through the other links it would appear to be the most mintyfresh 40k mile 530i Sport I have ever seen. Is it for sale?
I sold it via PH in September 2009, was 46k miles with two previous owners and FBMWSH at the time. It was bloody lovely, no idea as to its present whereabouts.

Just tried calling them, rings out with no answer phone. Hopefully they'll call back.
Can you buy that LMB/Caramel M5? I'll willingly sign a contract guaranteeing I'll have it off you next year.
Just spoken to him, he's taken a deposit...oh well.

Why did you do that? What a very, very, very silly thing to do.

How much?

This might be more bangernomics than bargain barge and it's well below the lower thread limit, but I've just picked this beastie up:

It's a 1995 Volvo 850 2.5 SE. Purchased from a Volvo specialist in Surrey who had taken it in part ex from an old boy who'd owned it ffor a few years and traded up to a V70. Said Volvo specialist have also done all the servicing on the car, so were able to supply me a big sheaf of invoices for the work they've done on it over the years. It's MOT'd until July next year and passed the last MOT with no advisories. It came with half a tank of petrol and good tread on all 4 tyres.

All the toys seem to work (and there's a lot of them), although I'm not sure on the cruise control - more on that later. Bodywork is solid, there's not a spot of rust anywhere, but a few scrapes and scratches, mainly on the corners of the bumpers (which are plastic, so doesn't look too bad).

It's done 187,000 miles, but mechanically feels tight as a drum and the interior and seats seem to have taken the mileage very much in their stride.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with it for £300. smile

Excuse the phone pics, I'll try and take some better ones on the weekend...

The bloke even picked me up from the station for that and the car had been freshly washed and vacuumed (no stripes though)!

+1, absolute bargain

ETA: In fact I think it deserves a new thread 'Best bangernomics, less than a grand [Vol 1]'

So... a couple of questions on my newly acquired Swedish bargain barge...

It didn't come with a manual, which would've been handy. I noticed on the drive home that it had cruise control which was a nice suprise. Couldn't get it to work though but I'm not sure if that's because it's borked or just that I don't know how to work it. So just how do you activate this:

Also, there's a slider thingy near the centre air vents labelled "airmix". Any idea what it does? confused

Mix cold air from outside with air from the heater? A la BMW systems I'm guessing.

£300 is a veritable bargain, indeed biggest bargain I can think from this thread of from top of my head (anyone any other suggestions).

That Slate/black interior comb posted by Len is a cracker.

I'm no fan of coal hole black, and prefer my beige seat/carpet/dash with black mats/roof to all black, however the light seats, door inserts with black everyone else is the nuts IMHO (albeit I did prefer the Ultimate 7 purple 5 posted a few months ago.

Mine's Orient Blue but it was an individual option in 2000 (normal option prior to that I think)

Nice looking Volvo for the relatively small outlay. This should help with the lack of manual http://www.volvoclubthailand.com/man/pdf/om/volvo_...

Is there a dedicated fuse for the cruise control? Maybe it just needs replacing? Or perhaps a switch behind the brake pedal that is u/s?
