The vehicle details for F56 NCE are:

Year of Manufacture 1988
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2494cc

This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA Local Office without the V5C Registration Certificate

ETA - didn't spot the export marker so I'd guess it's probably making curly marks in T junctions across the other side of the muddy ditch
Thanks for checking. Excuse my ignorance but does that mean it's been exported then? The vehicle details for F56 NCE are:

This thread reminded me that a nice E30 has always been on my list of cars I'd like to own and as values will now be climbing I can't afford to wait much longer.
So I did a search and I found this
http://pistonheads.com/sales/3729182.htm
yes that
and also this
http://pistonheads.com/sales/3948883.htm
I mean...
and then there's
http://pistonheads.com/sales/3986624.htm
Palm Face Interface??
erm - otherwise there's a lot of molested cars - some seriously molested cabrios and - erm - oh dear...

I used to own F905NNJ too. Nice rapid thing but I bought it for whizzing up motorways and found it undergeared and consequently a bit thirsty. It pulled the same revs at 70 as my 1.5 Mk1 Golf with less than half the power.Date of Liability 21 09 2009

That's the second car in a row I've sold that's ended up exported, before that I had a Sierra 2.0iS that went to Ireland. Is it the rear drive thing?
Am considering an E36 328i touring as I think thay have a taller final drive + more efficient engine.
....or a Jaaaaaaag....
I'm looking at E36 328i Touring's too, but recently a neighbour bought an E46 330i Sport Touring and it sounds great. I'm not a fan of the E46 (apart from the M3), but his car has slowly grown on me.

It's left the country - being RWD and cheap - Southern Ireland would be a good guess although it could have gone anywhere in the world
Where I used to live their we're quite a few eastern Europeans especially Polish who used to ask me if I was selling so maybe it's headed that way?wid77 said:

Have you posted that in the number plate thread - probably the best plate on a recovery vehicle EVER!?Bezza1969 said:
Sorry, these are too old now, my £750 would go on an E36 328i, which is a far superior and more modern car IMHO - and there are quite a few around just now, tempting me very much!!
E36s were the low point for BMW.Shoddy build, poor quality materials and rusted like an Ford.
I'd have an E30 over an E36 every time.

I really don't see the fascination with an old BMW that just looks so bad. If I asked the Mrs to drive one of these should would throw a proper strop. I like old cars and that but this has the styling of a shed and I suppose it fits the title of this thread.
I guess they sit in that awkward space looking a bit old, rather than properly old fashioned, personally I like the boxy looks but each to there own. The real fascination with old BMWs revolves around how they drive and in my case how easy they are to work on. An Eighties six cylinder BMW is a completely different animal to a hot hatch from the same period, not better or worse per se but different and different is good! NickGibbs said:

For £750 you could probably get an hour (possibly two, if you haggle) with one of Max Moseley's special friends. You get to choose the time and place of the event, your instrument of choice, and the scars will heal in a week or so.
Clearly, some people reach the stage where that type of masochism is too safe and predictable - they need their pain to arrive unexpectedly, in an unforeseen manner, and to leave a lasting legacy of hurt. But they don't want to spend more than a grand.
