although a two stroke leaf blower will show a real benefit. Difficult to incorporate under the bonnet, though...
Hmmm, I wonder...
Ive seen it done on a dyno - hopelessly impractical, but it works.

Oil and coolant adds a lot of weight and you should really run without it for best performance.

1. Cut a hole in driver's side of bonnet to see out of
2. Lift bonnet
3. Attach large desk fan to front of the engine bay, attach wiring to car battery
4. Point fan towards air intake
5. Drive

This will blow extra air into the intake, forcing cylinder pressures up, the car will add extra fuel to compensate and produce much more power, in effect creating a cheap supercharger. Consider hooking up a complicated but effective solenoid setup to press the various speed buttons on the fan for varying degrees of "boost".

OP: driver training. Pick what you want to learn and find someone to teach you. Makes you better, everywhere. Which might include 'faster'.

£1K spent on that will always achieve far, far more than anything spent on tyres/car bits/littlestuffedtoystohangoffthetowpoint.

Rock backwards and forwards repeatedly.
Forward fast, back slow, forward fast, back slow. You get the idea.

Add 5 blokes crammed into my mates stty slow 1.3 Maestro doing it in unison.

It seemed to have a effect and the effect it had on the drivers of cars we slowly overtook was priceless.
I can still see their faces now. hehe

I have just discovered that my V70 thermostat was opening at 70c and staying open. Bought a new one and it opens at the proscribed 92c. Car now feels much more responsive.

Wash the car , make sure the tyre pressures are correct then go for a spin.

This will trick your mind into thinking that because the cars fresher looking and fettled you will think the cars driving sweeter and therefore more responsive.

when pushing-on, turn your head to face out of side window. The sensation of speed will be intense, but you need to savour it as the experience may not last very long!..

Put an Avis sticker on the car. Everybody knows that hire cars are the fastest in the world wink
