Im confused why people seem to assume inappropriate use of these spaces grants immunity from 'reprisal' from those at the other end of the moron spectrum?

Ive seen people kick doors of a car thats just parked in the disabled spaces just after the driver has got out and dashed into the store.

I dont blame people with expensive cars for parking in parent and child spaces or even disabled bays to try to give their car a bit more protection because most people in supermarket carparks simply dont give a flying fk!
Most people dont care if their car gets hit by another cars opening door or dinged by a trolley and therefore dont care about anyone elses.
What do you think a guy with a £150k ferrari would rather be going home with? A dent in his car or some abuse from a disabled person for parking in a disabled bay??

I have been a victim of careless s in carparks several times in the past now and will quite happily use P+C or disabled spaces to avoid costly damage to my car,and I will quite happily tollerate any abuse or even a £60 fine for the privilige!!
Hear hear.
Plus, there is always st loads of extra disabled spaces and parent and child. I can't remember the last time I parked in a disabled spot, if ever, but when I worked in morrisons I used to park in p and c all the time. I spent about 500 hours and a decent chunk of cash getting, and keeping, my car immaculate. Why should I care if I park in p and c to keep morons doors away from mine.
Point in case being when I came back to my car after work and someone had just let go of a trolly and it had hit my tail light. This was after parking in a normal space at the request of the HR Manager. Anyone ever tried getting a replacement tail light for a Mini Clubman!?
fk them, if they don't care about my property (and it's usually a woman with kids being the culprit) why should I feel guilty for taking a p and c space.

So you were abusing the P&C parking and you actually worked for the store? Are you terminally dumb? Do you not realise the people who you are inconveniencing are those who you depend on for your income? And you do realise that if your car is spending 40hours a week in a supermarket car park then you are obviously far more likely to have it damaged. If you're so bothered then leave it at home and walk/bus/cycle to work.

Some terrible attitudes in this thread, capped off with the use of the word 'spacker'.

I tend to relax a bit about parking, just make sure I park correctly myself, and keep away from the trolley bays. Seems to work ok for me.

No excuse for that, just as bad as each other IMHO.......sounds like a repressed Chav trying to find an outlet for their pent up agression!

I work for Waitrose and there's a in a black ferrari with a PH Sticker on it that comes in every saturday and parks in a disabled spot, he is not disabled nor does he have a disabled parking permit, He also wears a leather ferrari jacket, even in the summer.

If you're reading this, you may be rich/own a nice car, but park in the proper fking spots you prick.
I really don't get why people do this, there is no need. I saw this guy getting out of his car having parked in a disabled bay at Beaconsfield Services the other day. And it was the last disabled bay available so if someone who actually was disabled turned up, they'd have nowhere to park.

I think it's just arrogance.

Do you realise just how expensive a car like this is?Do you have any Idea how much it would cost to repair damage on something like this and the affect it could have on the resale value, insurance etc?

Thats why he parks it there and probably couldn't give a monkeys bare arsed uncle what people like you think of him or if it is morally incorrect or inconveniencing anyone!

Can never understand that though. Surely if you buy a £200k car but worry the whole time about residuals or a car park dent then you should have 'bought' a cheaper car?

I don't worry about my cars so much these days as I buy stuff which I can afford without having to worry about that sort of thing. Could finance to the hilt for something much flasher (though admittedly no 458), but then I probably would end up worrying about such trivialities as where I park.

My opinion of this thread: I'm disappointed by the absolute idiocy of some of the people on here.

I think some supercar owners think they are the kings of the world. Reminds me of those rich middle eastern playboys racking up parking tickets in London but if memory serves that was on double yellows not disabled?

Im sure this chap probably does own many other cars and that the ferrari is not his usual choice for going to the supermarket it.But just maybe now and again he is in it and needs to stop at a shop for something. He probably feels very embarrassed parking the way he is and it and it is nothing to do with arrogance 'hey look at me ive got a ferrari and can park it where i want',he is just trying to protect his investment which I can thourghly understand.

You don't honestly believe that do you.

If he was really just worried about his car he would park at the far end in 2 spaces or even length ways over 3 /4 spaces.

He just wanted to be closer to the entrance !

Unless the occupants are disabled there is no excuse for this. I totally understand the protecting the car issue but surely if that was the priority a more appropriate action would be to park at the far end of the car park and if required take up 2 spaces (which there are plenty of space to do at this services). This I'm afraid smacks of laziness, selfishness and arrogance.

Nice car though.

Here's the thing.

Some carparks provide disabled and parent/child spaces for obvious reasons.

If everyone's attitude was to use any space they liked then there would be no point in having such spaces.

So to play out the argument of some on here, these spaces would eventually disappear and be replaced with standard spaces.

Is that what you want? Can you not see the need for these spaces and understand why you can't park in them no matter what the reason?

Depends on the supermarket, Sainsburys in Loughborough there are no "safe" parking areas it's always rammed full and I personally never go there, Tesco in Loughborough has a number of out of the way parking areas where I regularly park and more often than not grab two spaces for peace of mind.

The multi storey in Loughborough is ok as long as you get in there before 8:30am then there are a number of spaces on the end where you are separated from the next bay with a concrete pillar.

If you are of the mindset that you want to look after your car then you learn where and when to park to minimise the risk of damage caused by the completely tts who seem to have no respect for other people's property just because their own stbox is covered in scratches and dents!

I can just about cope being called a "spacker" as you so nicely put it, but please don't start on my parking skills, and since when has the S3, GTR, Navara and 7 replica that i drive been available on mobility.

I'm sure you think us "spackers" sit at home all day counting our benefits and choosing our next mobility cars, well sadly not, I work hard to pay for mine, and so far manage to park them as they should be.

Hell, on a good day I can even put my own socks on and wipe my own arse.

I was in tescos a few years ago chatting to the manager about stray trolleys, a friends wife asked what i was doing so told her, having another moan. i watched the stupid cow walk out pack her stuff into the car then leave the trolley in front of it,and drive off.

westwood tescos are getting new trolleys but still not pound slotting them, so they can roll even faster into the car causing more damage.

To be fair on the ferrari parking that could be parked at 5.30 in the morning in a empty carpark. and the owner could just be at a cash point out of shot etc.

Whats the rule on buying two parking tickets and parking in two bays. Personally i see no problem in doing this if its a quiet car park.

Many years ago i parked MY work van in obviously some knuckle dragging slags space in a unmarked bayed communal carpark. After she parked as close to me as possible ,I saw her chum move over to be behind the drivers seat and they both got out smashing there doors into the side of MY van. I walked past and gave them a racing stripe with my cutters. That damage cost me £350 to get the side of my van repaired. I know two wrongs don't make it ok but what else was i to do, nothing and stew forever. If i had said anything i would have just had abuse thrown at me or worse shot/stabbed. I hated working in north fleet kent.

See how Christian you fell after every single dent.
I've been parking in 'normal' spaces in supermarket car parks for 25 years, in cars worth from £50 up to £115,000. Never had a dent.

Actually, I'm not even sure why I've responded to this as I usually avoid getting into conversations with half-brained selfish fkwits like you.
