There was one for sale in Dublin earlier this year, with a RHD conversion, they wanted €18,000 for it and it sold reasonably quickly. I'd spend the money on a 911 personally, which surely inspired the back end of the SP2.
Can't see that myself. Given the engine's in the same place it's about as un-911 rear end as I could imagine.Much more E-Type or Toyota GT2000 to my eye.

There's an interesting video on Youtube that shows some of the original concept drawings and models and there is an obvious 911 esque rear end on several of them so it was clearly a major influence.

It's easy to get a 150Bhp air cooled VW engine built up that will be docile enough for road use. That would make it decently quick. The front end looks like a VW 411/412.
Close to 200 here, mine drove nicely to Belgium and back earlier in the year. Well bar nailing a 997 on the motorway through France Volkswagen SP2 treasure trove found in Brazil
"The treasure trove contains 16 complete and seven disassembled SP2s, as well as a mixture of other makes and models with then disassembled cars stacked on their ends against one of the walls of the garage.'The treasure trove contains 16 complete and seven disassembled SP2s, as well as a mixture of other makes and models with then disassembled cars stacked on their ends against one of the walls of the garage."
Wow!

Haha, I have taken one for a drive about 5 years a go. A mates parents bought one in Dubai and had it imported about 20 yrs ago. It sat in a garage for many yrs until the now divorced wife bought it off the ex. (she has also bought an e-type) thanks to english 80's divorce settlements. I can confirm they are SH**. the drive is spongy and the engine under powered and smell of petrol will knock you out. The Tyres are huge and may make the ride smoother but when on the back of an Recovery truck make not much difference.
I love these; I saw one a few years back near Manchester, really stands out. For me, it's one of those cars that looks so cool and feels so special that I don't care how it drives, which, apparently, is pretty badly!
It lacked power, the Brazilians use to joke that the SP stood for 'sin potenza'-no power.
