As a fellow VXR8 owner I can totally agree with Gary's enthusiasm for the car, they are very special and a car you really have to have a go in to see and feel the appeal!
I've sat in Gary's and had a nose around it and the amount of work he has put in to it is truly unbelievable!
Simply amazing cars!
Mine in all it's blackness................

Cast your mind back three years or so...was it you over Tweseldown chasing a dark blue Astra (swmbo company car) that 'let' you past on Sandy lane in Hants? We just wanted to hear the noise!
Mind you, we dropped you in the last tight twistie
Cheers,
C.

Why didn't the original owner just buy the Bathurst demo car? surely would have been cheaper.
Good question - was thinking the same thing...Wonder if the current owner knows its history?!

Because they didn't make the Bathurst in Silver!
It would have been cheaper to respray a car than it would to transplant it's mechanicals into another one.If you ask around, you'll not find many people who - should they fancy a chance of colour for their car - buy another and swap the hardware over
Great story behind a fascinating car. Have to love those small block Chevies. Pushrod pigiron they might appear to us but they are so tuneable and bombproof (ref Jay Leno's latest vid on his Chevy Deuce Hotrod, 600hp no problem, and no more thirsty than an RX8). Proper practical muscle car madness. Good on you Gary, best Carpool for ages.
