I saw a Mazda 121 on one of my drives earlier - coming up to it I was 100% positive it was an older Fiesta until I saw the badge... A spot of research revealed it was a badge-engineered version of the 4th gen Fiesta; glad that I wasn't entirely wrong.

I lived there for three years and never knew that. It explains all the Ladas I used to see.
Actually based at Carnaby I think, just outside Bridlington, though undoubtedly imported through Hull or Immingham I assume? I grew up in a village not far from there - between Brid and Driff, to return to the local vernacular. Only appropriate given that Hull is City of Culture 2017 😂

never heard of that California 318 hatch.
In a similar vein, Porsche 924 Turbo 1980

Are you saying that you've never heard of a 924 Turbo, or am I in need of a parrot?

No parrots required. Never heard of it, i thought the "lower" model turbos came much later. Happy to be in the minority, I was ten years old.

So was I, there or thereabouts. I was just surprised, without any real reason. I just kind of assumed that if you've heard of a 924, you've heard of a 924 turbo.

Do you know of the 924 Carrera GT?

That's a turbo too wink

Did they make it to production or were they just concepts?

Could almost be an updated version of this - or are my meds wearing off? Nice though.

I did at the time.
It was a homage to their S110R coupe of the 70s - a curious rear-engined car which had some success in rallying.
Indeed, they were involved in a lot of motorsport and even had a Chevy V8 powered version.

Didn't really fit in with their rebadged VW ethos though.
