Funny isn't it. Very hard to shift a boggo small 4-door in the UK. People want hatches, coupes or SUV's it seems.
Makers must spend loads studying local market preferences.

A3 Saloon seems to be one of the only hits.

They only sold the Fluence over here for a year as an EV, if I recall rightly.

Its essentially the same car as the original Dacia Logan, albeit the Renault came first. Luckily that wasn't sold in the UK either!

A lot of the none West European markets consider a 3 box vehicle to be more of a status symbol. That is why you will see a lot of our well known hatchbacks done with a boot.

Whilst I was in Belgium last weekend, I saw one of these;

At first glance I thought it was an Insignia, but it didn't look quite right. It is of course an Astra saloon.
Also sold in USA/Canada as the Buick Verano.

And this one was sold in Mexico as the Nissan Platina.

Small salons are rather popular in Ireland, with several available that aren't available in the UK

I think they all look better than our versions...

While I like small saloons, anyone fancy one of these?

In comparison, this is quite elegant:

I think it's basically a Nissan Note saloon but it does look like it's a Chinese copy of something.
