I forgot about that. They look pretty good too. In fact, when I said Kuga I think I meant Edge.

Yes, the Edge looks fantastic, closely followed by the new and old Sportages. Come on ze Germans! Kuga looks a bit generic, a meh, from me.

How's the Astra going? smile

There's nothing to report there - it seems to do plenty of miles without fuss or problem. I'm thinking of taking it to Bratislava for a few weeks this December so winter tyres are the next thing for it.

Thanks for asking!

I suppose it kind of fits on this thread. Only today someone said to me that he didn't know about them.

haha. In fairness I didn't either, I'm not into my Vauxhall's. However I think the Astra H and the now deceased GTC were one of the best looking of recent times, I'm a fan of the Astra Nurburgring too.

The idea of 1.8 Turbo in that must feel brilliant down some B roads, I wonder what a remap and a fruity exhaust would do?

P.S
just changed my username. My a6 has been sat in the main dealer for 3 weeks now - Trading standards against the dodgy dealer who sold it. Big bill......

They also done a Fiesta Pick-Up 2000ish shape.
There were 2 versions, the Ford Bantam from South Africa:

And the Ford Courier from Brazil:

I have always had a thing for pickups and would love to own either.
Why would Ford HQ have 2 different versions of a pickup based on the same car? I'd have thought the number crunchers would have stepped in after whichever came first and had the same pickup for both markets.
Unless there are very specific exemptions in place (such as for government / military use), a reasonable percentage of any product sold in Brazil needs to have been manufactured in Brazil. It's a big market, so the finance people would have worked the business case through pretty thoroughly.

Huh; who knew? (Looks nasty.)
What have they done to it? Looks awful, a real bland box. As said, looks like it's been designed to make people buy a Fiesta instead.
Its already on sale in other countries (popular in India). They've killed it in the same way Nissan did with the Micra. Its just a way to cut costs globally for them.

Until 10 minutes ago i didn't know you could get the Lotus Exige as a Roadster :P

Does that count?
Isnt that just an Elise?
Nope. Exige has the 350bhp supercharged V6 that used to be in the Evora S. Elise still uses a 4 cylinder.
Not surprising you didn't know, they sell in minute numbers relative to almost any other car. its very nice but not worth the premium over the Elise S/C really (But I'd still buy one!)

In the Astra? 2.0 Turbo smile it's not bad - definitely better than I expected. Not the greatest hot hatch ever, by a long way!

It sounds OK. Jot much sound inside the car though. Just smooth inside

I've just had a look at your car. I wasn't aware of the V8 in that shape Allroad although a friend had an A6 saloon with that engine. Nice cars!

Didn't know these existed till I saw one at Billing this year. Absolutely tragic to look at and was a dealer option I believe

Even more confusing is that you can take the roof of an Exige anyway (certainly on the S2)

Didn't know that. Explains a lot of the Brazilian specials.

It's a one off. You definitely couldn't order it. It's something to do with showing off paintwork I think

ETA: A couple of years ago it only had 50 miles on the clock. It's not used.

Edit: a quick Google does reveal to be a one off so apologies! Still a tragic thing Vauxhall were trying to do

I think you need :
W16 Quad Turbo and Supercharger conversion
6 exhausts
chrome spinners
15/1/R60 tyres
Neon conversion
Very hard suspension for all the grip
Opel badges

You'll be all set for some B road blastin' ! hehe

A bit embarassed about my car really. Hoping it will return to me though, it's a nice car. Going on saturday to look at DS5's for my wife.

saw some new Fiat convertibles on a transporter today, they looked like the old Barchetta or a rag top Mx5, they were badged as Fiat 124 convertibles, never heard of it.

Not a fan then ... the hype's been around for a while ... MX5 with Fiat engine and gearbox

There's not much resemblance to the Barchetta IMO.

It's supposed to be a modern interpretation of the 1970s 124 Spyder, hence the twin bonnet bulges.
