It's supposed to be a modern interpretation of the 1970s 124 Spyder, hence the twin bonnet bulges.

Yup, bonnet bulges, front and rear lamps, grille, all styling cues from the original 124 Spider.

I never knew there was even such a thing as a Renault 'Siete' until I went to Spain in the 80s.
It's really not a thing of beauty....

What have they done to it? Looks awful, a real bland box. As said, looks like it's been designed to make people buy a Fiesta instead.
It's not a KA though - Its a KA+.. looks like a Matiz all over again. And the A Class MPV. And don't forget the Yaris Verso! What about the 1007?
They've definitely half-arsed the design. Look st the instruments as an example, looks like something from a big standard Peugeot of the 90s to me with its massive fuel gauge, surprised there isn't a clock instead of a rev counter

While having a look at the Fiat 124s on Autotrader I discovered Fiat makes a pickup called the Fullback, rebadged L200?

The Spanish were always keen on saloon versions of locally built small cars. Amongst others there was the BL 1100, the Victoria(?).

Didn't know these existed till I saw one at Billing this year. Absolutely tragic to look at and was a dealer option I believe
It's a one off. You definitely couldn't order it. It's something to do with showing off paintwork I think

ETA: A couple of years ago it only had 50 miles on the clock. It's not used.
Edit: a quick Google does reveal to be a one off so apologies! Still a tragic thing Vauxhall were trying to do

I've not seen that for years, totally forgot about it, wasn't it an irmisher quick silver or something? It was in the observers book of cars.

I spotted a car I've not seen before yesterday in a small romanian village. It looks around early 2000s, quite futuristic hatchback. Probably a yugo or something, will take a drive today and get a picture.

It's fine. Just a bodykitted Astra GTE with odd paint and interior.

Though I wonder - I remember the paint finish from back to front being a better blend of silver all the way to black.

Are the front panels as silver and unblended as they look in the photo? I'm sure that's not how it was meant to be. It was meant to showcase the quality and skill of proper paint blending and was supposed to graduate perfectly from silver darkening to black.

Here's a slightly better photo of the effect - it's white at the front and goes through tones of silver until it gets to black:

I was never entirely sure why exactly it was made, I'm too young haha its a lot older than me! But that makes sense with the blending and the era they made it, hmmm yeah I see now maybe it's been repainted at some point?!?!

Ah the Fiat Palio. Fiat's 'world car' in the 90s, sold pretty much everywhere except western Europe (as far as I know) and the USA. Very popular in South America. I believe it was mostly a Punto under the skin and came in a number of body styles, including pick-up and estate.

How about the Ssangyongg Chairman, basically a Merc E class. And the top model comes with a 5l V8 and AWD.

You sure about that?

It was sold in emerging / developing markets in Europe, such as the former Eastern Bloc countries, Spain and Portugal.

We, and most of the developed markets, got the Marea Weekend (as a replacement for the Tempra Weekend).

Ford aren't stupid. The Ecosport, which is the cheapest and nastiest heap of ste they've made since the Mk5 Escort, is selling like hot cakes, at a massive margin. It was originally conceived for developing markets, but they took a punt on the UK's obsession with SUVs and have made a killing. So it makes sense to also bring in a cheap and nasty supermini from a developing country which will also sell at a silly margin on the back of the brand and 'Ka' designation.
