Whilst having a cheap V8 search on eBay, I just ran into a Cadillac Seville.

I was expecting to find an LHD car, but it's RHD UK registered.

They were sold by Vauxhall dealers. Our local franchise did their level best to temp my Dad away from his Volvo 7 and 9 series but the Caddy was just too much of an oddball for him to commit to one despite the appeal of a Northstar? V8.

My memories are of a big wafty car covered in cow hide. It looked a bit like a Rover 800 as mentioned above.

To add to the oddball factor it came with a MiniDisc player as standard.

I kind of wish he'd bought one.

We had one of those as a company car (mrs works for vauxhall) , only a few vauxhall dealers sold those , like the monaros .

Jezza - first article. No.

Ironically, the engine and service interval he waxes about was the car's weakness and downfall.

They were fine. Good cars on the whole - a very close family friend had one. It replaced a Lexus LS400 and he absolutely loved it. I think he had it from around 1998 to 2006. I liked it too.

Quick and it made a fantastic noise. Not a lazy V8 offbeat burble - a smooth, cultured shriek. He never mentioned any problems with it but they do have a reputation for head failure. I'm not sure what dealer it came from

Spotted this one while in Brest last week.

Quite like the look of that, would be fun to hire one abroad for a few days!
A quick Google looks like it may be coming to the UK http://www.citroen.co.uk/new-cars-and-vans/future-...

I like these. They were pretty good
They were the equivalent of something like a Rover 825. Not a good car, poor reviews and they are prone to head issues which require the engine being taken out.
I see what you're saying with the 825, wasn't that generation of Rover all based round Honda models that weren't all available as Hondas in the UK? 'Cos I look at this and think it looks a bit JDM, as well as being a bit too compact and well-proportioned compared to most Caddies.

If you're wondering if it's Honda-based at all, it's fully North American General Motors.

It was designed as a car to be sold worldwide, however. A lot of Cadillacs at that time really were only intended to appeal to North America.

We had it brand new as a company car so only had it for 10k ( less than a year) the mrs was glad to get shot due to the size of it lol very difficult to get it into underground car parks and parking spaces , there is one local to me at the bottom of someones garden , they have a complicated and expensive suspension system which may be the issue with that one , it was fun in a walllowy way even with the european handling kit they came with nice comfy thing with electric everything .. Nearest thing at the time looks wise was the audi a8

After checking the 'cars so ugly...' thread I decided to look up what mitsuoka's current line up is. found this.

Himiko

As you can probably tell by the wheels the car is based off the NC mx-5.

ish. I did a bit of digging and it's a Samand Arisun.
It's an Iran-built ex-peugeot design that has been pickup-ified. They make a few old peugeots in the same company.

I knew I recognised that front half. Now I see it!

It's like an Iranian Ford P100

I saw that one earlier too. I like it - it's a fairly tempting car, I think. 300bhp and ten months of MOT for £1250 has to be good value!
Didn't like thme when they were new - but they're ageing gracefully. MOT history showed a bit of corrosion back in 2012, but clean as a whistle on every test since. That's a lot of car for very little money.

I didn't like them until our friend had one - then I came to like it far more than you would if you'd only seen them in magazines. It really was a much nicer car than the reputation, in my opinion. Comfortable, quiet and well-made. And that noise was special - it's not just a nice V8 noise, I haven't heard anything quite like it elsewhere. Almost like a bassier, less revvy Honda NSX somehow. It's hard to describe.
