Followed one of these on the way in to work this morning. It it the i8 people say looks like is birthing a 911? I've no idea what this is birthing but it's not pretty.

Toyota C-HR

There is so much going on (most of it wrong) that it is hard to know where to begin. That said, the rear door handles must be one of the most random placements I have ever seen.
Toyota have lost it styling-wise of late.

The newest Prius is horrific. Like a acid-nightmare batmobile.

well you know what happened... they were so boring and old fart orientated a few years ago across the entire range that they will have had a brand "re-imagining" exercise. They probably decided that stupid styling details would pass for cool and edgy.

It must be a far Eastern fashion, as the latest Civic is despicable.

Agreed, every time I see it I cringe. I liked the styling of the last one but this new one...

I like the C-HR, makes a change from some of the boring dross Toyota have brought out over the past decade. Nicer than the Juke and deserves to sell well IMO. Only thing I don't like is the retro 1980s style clock on the dashboard, looks so out of place!

Standard issue Toyota. Even the Century has one.

Why would it be? - it's a Kia, not a Dacia.

Doesn't look bad at all. Not my kind of thing, but it's no worse than may other eco offerings.

How big is it? A Prius is enormous inside

Odd but quite nice-looking thing - and it's the first time I've heard of/seen one.

That's because it was custom built for the owner when he returned to the States after his service in Europe. A one-off, so you're never going to see another.

Saw a new (well 16/66 plate) car in the City (near Bank) this morning, at first had no idea what it was until I walked around the front to read the badge (crossing the road)

Turns out it was a Hyundai Genesis! - must be rare as rocking horse st in the UK

Apart from both being hatchbacks, those cars have no similarities whatsoever.

Prices start at £50k, for a Hyundai, unsurprising they haven't sold well!

One of these has just turned up in the car park at work, Proton Satria its an 07 plate. Appears to actually designed/made by Proton with a Mitsubishi engine and a "handling by lotus" badge. Its the same colour as the first picture too.

The owner has an 100 mile round trip commute, so I suspect its been bought cheap and will be run to the death. It replaces a complete shed of a 5 series that someone rear ended.

Yup, it's a domestic Malaysian design and actually not totally awful but they were too expensive and never sold in decent numbers in the UK. It didn't sell that well in Malaysia either actually, there's not a big market for 'sporty' 3 door cars and they were expensive so they're a comparatively rare sight in KL too.
