It was a stop gap made from around 1997-2000 until the new models co-developed with Renault went on sale. A very strange move as the Renault it was based on was at least 15 years old, the only logical reason behind it being a desperation to compete in the van market.According to Car magazine, there was a van version of the Metro sold as the Morris 310 and had the dubious honour of being the last model sold under the Morris brand (sorry, best pic I could find):
