Ford Ecosport

Can't upload an image from the phone, but think small 4x4, Nissan Juke size. In pictures it looks out of proportion, too tall, and has a massive spare wheel mounted on the boot

This is it:

Product of Ford Brazil IIRC and not really designed for western markets but it's been adapted and sold here anyway. Feels very cheap inside and not built to euro standards.

I quite like the look of them, and after owning a Fiesta and Focus would've been interested in buying one. Ford just wasted the opportunity by sticking a crap plastic interior in it though. I can't see how the price is justified considering it's from a poor country and most of the bits are from the Fiesta, plus they didn't even use the soft-touch materials found in their other models.

Would that be the Kuga over here? Albeit with a slightly different look.

Then there's the Ford Falcon Ghia from the 1960's, sorry, the 1980's!

Of course, many in Blighty won't know the Leyland P76

Most importantly, it must be one of the few production cars that can carry a 200L drum in the boot...

confused

Whats the story behind that one? Looks a bit like an XK or XL with the grill and headlights of an XD!

Most of the pictures seem to be from Argentina, was it a South American thing rather than an Aussie Falcon?

They are smaller than the Kuga. On sale in the UK apparently, some on Autotrader on 63 plates so they have been here a while.

A Kuga is on a Focus chassis whereas the Ecosport is a Fiesta. Has just come over to the UK from Brazil where they've been popular for a number of years. They are built in India and it's fair to say they're not very nice.

Source - I sell Fords.

No picture, but I was behind a Vectra yesterday badged as a V6 turbo....... Never knew they did such a beast.

It was driven by an older gentleman and the badging was not the stty Halfords aftermarket jobbies but original VX fonts

I'm guessing it is the same as the Saab 9-3 2.8 V6 turbo

Yep, new one on me. Love those wheels, very Lancia Delta HF.
Dead sexy.

'This very rare Shooting Brake style Quattroporte designed by Touring Superleggera that debuted in 2009 at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Elegenza is scheduled to be auctioned by RM Auctions on the 25th and is expected to fetch for around £800,000.

The Touring Bellagio Fastback was built for former Ducatio president Carlo Bonomi and is 1 of only 4 ever made. The car sits on 19 inch forged Borrani Bimetal alloys with a wheelbase of 120.6 inches in a dark forest green paint that helps it stand out from the crowd.'

It's horrid.

Most of the mainstream motoring press seem to give it 3 star reviews, and I'm sure it's because they don't want to fall out with the Ford PR team.

As others have said the interior is like a cost reduced Fiesta with buttons all over the place and cheap plastics everywhere, the side hinged tailgate is just plain impractical, and with the spare wheel on there it's also really heavy to open or shut on a hill. The whole car is ridiculous, Ford lovers will be tempted because they won't look at anything else, but the whole package (EcoBoost 1.0 engine excepted) feels miles behind the Captur, Juke, 2008 and even the Vauxhall Mokka. It feels on a par with the Dacia Duster in execution and quality, yet is much smaller, and significantly more expensive.

Right on cue, one of the few publications which can slate a car without fear of being sidelined by the VM shares my opinion on the EcoSport, right down to stating they'd rather have a Dacia Duster.

I have since found out that Vauxhall never did a RHD for the UK....
I remember there was a lot of buzz about those in the motoring press at the time, it was meant to be a sort of replacement of the VX220 but had a very difficult birth starting life as a Pontiac Solstice, but they changed all sorts of things on it to make it more euro-buyer friendly until GM said it had become impossible to make it RHD or something and it never came here.

Stumbled across this today, searching for 208 facelift, after driving past a Pug dealership and being confused as to what I saw (probably just a 308). I never heard or knew of this until I saw this picture.
