Cars you didn't know existed...

I hadn't realised these had already been sold, don't think there are any reviews kicking about of them either... (Evo X FQ440)

I can't remember the name......
It's a Nissan, like a Cube but with the different rear bit.
Openback or something......
On a similar note, saw Daihatsu Materia for the first time yesterday (in a petrol station). It's a Nissan, like a Cube but with the different rear bit.
Openback or something......
Quite similar to the Cube in a looks department...

Not as handsome as the Cube.
True. The same can be said for the Kia Soul and Scion xB too.solothsar said:
Dad used to have a saloon one of these and was astounded to see an estate version the other week.
(Hello by the way. )
That's not a great addition to the SD1, in my opinion, even the lower end standard cars have a level of grace to them that are lacking on that one!

There's a lot of 'badge engineering' going on between Toyota, Scion, Daihatsu and Subaru - You can get a Daihatsu Charade which is actually a Mk2 Yaris with different badges, a Subaru Trezia which is a Toyota Verso S and a Subaru Justy which is also a Daihatsu Sirion or in the UK a Perodua Mivi.
The earlier Justy's were Suzuki Swifts but with 3 cylinder engines and 4x4 so not sure how that worked! How can it be the same car but with different engines and drivetrain? Not sure about the Daihatsu Mivi being the same as the Mk2 Justy? Though it was a Swift still?
NZ, the land of run down bad taste japanese cars. My most hated is the Toyota Spacio.
I keep seeing around here a japanese version of the Jeep Cherokee. At first I thought it was a lowered Cherokee but with Nissan or Toyota badges (cant remember which) it looked quite cool too. I cant remember what it is called but I thick the Japanese military use them too.

Since living out here in NZ, I've come across quite a few (I presume) Jap imports which we don't get back in the Uk. I don't really think we've missed out as they all seem pretty dull, but there are occasionally some really interesting ones (not necessarily below)
There are quite a few old Kei cars about like the Subaru Ace/Rex:
Hadn't come across a Nissan Lucino before one of our friends bought one
Delica's seem very popular, I knew about the older model you occasionally see in the Uk but not the latest model. Looks a bit like a hummer H3 mashed up with an old Ford Galaxy - pretty ugly!
The Ssangyong Actyon wins in the ugliness stakes though, god knows what they were thinking when they came up with this:
