Dad used to have a saloon one of these and was astounded to see an estate version the other week.

I thought the Fiat Uno died years ago. But I saw a scale model in the toy fair at the NEC today and saw a car with a Fiat Uno label next to it. No no that's a Fiat Panda I thought. But the Uno does live on as a South American kinda sorta Panda.

Saw what was badged a Contera MD-1 at the Oxford Services yesterday, never seen or heard of it. McLaren F1-aping three-seat layout. Twitter suggests it was out for filming/photoshoot. No idea on powertrain, looking in the back it's got a sizeable inline engine longitudinally mounted, not obvious if turbo'd or not.

I hadn't realised these had already been sold, don't think there are any reviews kicking about of them either... (Evo X FQ440)

Bigger question is why doesn't it look aa good as the X FQ-400?

There's a lot of 'badge engineering' going on between Toyota, Scion, Daihatsu and Subaru - You can get a Daihatsu Charade which is actually a Mk2 Yaris with different badges, a Subaru Trezia which is a Toyota Verso S and a Subaru Justy which is also a Daihatsu Sirion or in the UK a Perodua Mivi.
The earlier Justy's were Suzuki Swifts but with 3 cylinder engines and 4x4 so not sure how that worked! How can it be the same car but with different engines and drivetrain?

Not sure about the Daihatsu Mivi being the same as the Mk2 Justy? Though it was a Swift still?
The latest Justy is definitely the same as the cars I stated above:

Unfortunately they aren't that reliable and the heavy weight somewhat blunts the performance. Shame as otherwise quite a nice car and a lot cheaper than the Golf R32 it borrows an engine from

That does look good from the side, very "premium".

<Pedant mode> The 3 cyl Subaru justys were Subaru through and through.. the later swift/ justy venture were 4 cyl using suzuki engines as well. the latest Subaru justys are 2wd...what the hell Subaru were thinking of I have no idea... I still get the odd customer asking if I can find them a nice justy...I cant...

They did an S2 saloon as well. Only not in the UK

Popular in the States I think - As I recall they don't sell the S3 hatches there because Americans don't like Hatchbacks (I guess they still think "AMC Pacer"! biggrin).
