I know someone that used to have a yellow one of those.
There's usually half a dozen or so at JapFest - an itch I want to scratch. yes

There was one in the underground car park in my old job (Grover: Aztec West, so it may be around there). I never did find out who owned it! frown

I like that. A bit like a Volvo 780.

Incidentally why do lots of JDM cars have wing mirrors rather than ones on the doors?

Looks really daft. There must be a reason for it.

Interesting. Japanese cars are popular in Russia, but not usually interesting ones.

Aye, but that Verona is a 2dr Orion. Rather strange, not surprised we didn't get them in the UK.

I don't think so, you see loads of cars here (Japan) with conventional door mirrors too.

It's function over form, if you use the door mirror you have to take your eyes completely off the road, so the clever Japanese who don't care so much for the swoopy lines and arty farty nonsense we have in Europe kept additional mirrors on the front wings so they can keep looking ahead and just glance slightly to each side to see behind instead of looking away from the road.

Slightly different thing but a lot of Japanese 4x4s have a mirror on the passenger side wing, these are for parking and tight spaces, I think they point down at the wheels to see what you've hit with the other side of the car. hehe

fking awful cars. Parents had one as a courtesy car for a couple of days last year. Desperately slow, actually pretty terrible on fuel, seats like park benches and an interior styled by a man who is unaware what shape a human being actually is so it's impossible to get a remotely comfortable driving position.
I have a VW up! (same car) as a daily driver, had it for the last 2 years, and can completely inverse your statements. Mine is nippy, great on fuel (I average low 50 mpg round town and high 60 MPG on the motorway at 75mph). I've driven across Germany and back over 48 hours and never once felt uncomfortable.
