Because we don't buy sedans?
I'm not suggesting that we should be getting the sedan; I'm just not sure who is going to buy a Ka unless it's noticeably cheaper than a base-model Fiesta. If it is that much cheaper, there's a risk that it will cannibalise sales of low-end Fiestas rather than increasing market share.

No pictures because I was driving, I drove past a car in France last week that seemed to be a 205, but with a Belingo style rear end.
That'll be the Peugeot version of the Citroen C15D, with a 205 front instead of a Citroen Visa. It was never sold in the UK.On the subject of saloons, some markets perceive hatchbacks to be utilitarian and saloons to be more prestigious so there are a lot of them out there. It's similar to the UK in the 80s when a Sierra Sapphire or an Orion was seen as being a more upmarket car than a regular Sierra or an Escort.
In India there are tax rules which benefit cars under 4m long which results in lots of strange truncated saloons based on things like the Hyundai i10, Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Swift.

Very different to here - I live in West Berkshire, work in North Hampshire and travel to Dorset once or twice a week. I see a complete mix of all makes and models of car, but very few expensive cars like new RRs or Porsches etc. The only unusual bias is there are a lot of Land Rovers near where I live, but that's because the type of land and farming where I am (estate owned land, small fields with lots of copses and a scattering of token livestock - the estates buy their groundsmen LRs to look after things).
I live in West Berks as well there are transporter loads of Evoques on the a34 every day ! Must be selling really well overseas
Fluence is effectively an electric Megane saloon in the UK, but it can be bought with internal combustion engines in Europe.
Residual values were hilarious when they first launched, lots of ex demo and press cars being offloaded at less than half the sticker price as most people buying electric cars want a smaller second car, not a full size family saloon.

That's very cheap for a 61 plate with 16k miles. Still not cheap enough though, £70 monthly battery rental is going to kill these pretty fast I reckon. It's almost impossible to find one without an 'H' numberplate as nobody other than Renault UK seemed to register them.

I think pretty much all of them were registered by RUK. The availability of them new was low, nobody wanted them at all.Residual values were hilarious when they first launched, lots of ex demo and press cars being offloaded at less than half the sticker price as most people buying electric cars want a smaller second car, not a full size family saloon.

Battery hire price has now dropped though, so they make a bit more sense but they are essentially a foreign market Megane saloon with an electric motor, Renault quietly killed it off and replaced it with the much better (and properly designed) ZOE.
