Courtesy of the badly modified cars thread,

Saab 9-2x, basically a Saaburu Impreza, a quick google says it was only launched in the American market

Mental.
The character Jim Halpert had one of these in the U.S. Version of The Office.

They also sold the 9-7x on the GMT360 platform (GMC Envoy etc).

Wow that's hideous, and to think how good that front end looks on a normal 9-3
I think it looks alright in the flesh.

Theres always a few for sale here in NL and you see them on the road every now and again:

Right on cue I saw a black one in Zürich yesterday morning. It did look OK actually.
I think it looks alright in the photo, no idea what supposedly makes it "hideous".
Also available with a 5.3L V8!

Eagle Talon TSI, a lightweight awd monster with the 4g63 motor, also sold as the Plymouth Laser RS and the Mitsubishi Eclipse. I'm trying to find one of these as a project car, hard to find one that hasn't been abused.

In the spirit of badge engineered GM platforms being used to make Saabs, have we had the 9-4x yet?

Keeping it Swedish, have we had the Volvo 780 yet, as well? I actually quite fancy one of these at some point but there aren't exactly too many around:

I have to say I like that. It's like they got the Japanese to style the MK1 VW Sirocco.

With a 2.0 tdi, the 9-4x would have sold by the boat load and resurrected Saab.

I doubt it - it's based on a US vehicle, is too big for the European market (think Hyunda Santa Fe, Kia Sorento etc) and being US based the interior won't be up to scratch by European standards. It might have been competitive against the aforementioned Korean options but would never compete with the X3, X5, Q5 and so on.

You've just made my day. I had a toy one of those as a small child, but have never figured out exactly what it was. Now I know at last! Wish I still had it though...

Seen one of these yesterday - Lancia Flavia... Very ford focus-ey.

Upon further research Lancia are still making a few models of car, don't see many.

Its a rebodied Chrysler Sebring. Hateful POS.
Not even rebodied, just a badge swap on a Chrysler 200 convertible.

The Flavia / 200C is unforgivable. The Voyager isn't great but it did replace the Zeta:

and the Phaedra:

And neither of them were great badge-engineering.
