H-M-Vehicles Free-way.

The H-M-Vehicles Free-Way (H-M meaning high mileage) was a three-wheel microcar manufactured in Burnsville, Minnesota, from 1979 to 1982.
These small commuter cars had a single seat and were powered by a 12 or 16 horsepower gasoline engine (345cc/453cc) or a 4 hp electric motor.

Around 700 were produced.
Designer's name?! spin
Dave Edmonson.

I've linked the wikipedia page above and there's some more info here

Never mind that. What's the wee pininfarina designed coupe in the background of the second pic? Looks like an old Peugeot 204 but actually suspect it's a Mazda of some sort. Lovely none the less

Ah, yes. XR2, Aussie-style - 0-100kh in around 12s... And this from the land of the V8 Supercar

Moving on...

I think this was only a prototype, but for me, the R16 front doesn't work well on a two-door coupe...

These were rare too, mainly because they were ridiculously expensive - the Celica cabriolet.

Ah, is that the engine they ended up using? I seem to remember the early concepts had a 2.0 Honda Vtec lump.
just to drag this up
They are essentially kit cars so whatever powerplant you want. have mostly seen them with VAG turbos in

Surprised no one has mentioned that it's clearly been based on the Porsche 356C

I can't work out which end the engine is at. I found one review that says it rear wheel drive, but as it's based on Peugeot mechanics does that mean it might actually have a front engine/front wheel drive package mounted in the rear?

My Google-fu has failed me. Looking at the panel crease and the falling-away tail, I was thinking it's a Bertone creation rather than Pininfarina, like the Alfa 105, but the stance is wrong and it doesn't look like a Bertone badge on the flank, although it's not much like a Pininfarina badge either.

Erm, two posts up.

It's Bertone/Guigiaro-designed.

In my defence, those posts appeared in between hitting 'Reply' and 'Post'.

(told you it was Bertone..)

Heh; started to reply then got sidetracked searching Google images for Bertone and Pininfarina designed coupes!

I'm really tempted by a celica 'vert. There is one on retro rides for £800
