Been there. Done that. Didn't sell (much).
Still having really strong residual values though.
Do agree however, a proper halo M1 is required.

Give this a 10 on looks alone, and I also loved the last one!
That's generous, you designed the car did'nt you it's far too bland for a car of this calibre for my liking. whilst it's far from a bad looking car, i don't have a big "want" for one, whereas i do with the less powerful DB9 or Virage, and i'm sure the M6 is every bit as competent in every objective way. having been in a DB9 though, the power was far from lacking but it was "disappointing" in the sense a £100k+ car should be quicker than a bloody BMW M3 IMO. did make a gorgeous noise though and at night the interior was sublime IMO. ride quality wasn't great from what i recall.
I sold my M6 and had a 640d on order but thought, if I want a cheap to run diesel, errr why not buy a cheap to run (including purchase and depreciation) diesel. Sooo I cancelled and bought a 2009 Passat cc tdi. I`ve gone from 14-15mpg to 45ish and it`s fantastic. Saving about a grand a month on fuel, a grand a month on depreciation and about £500 on monthly payment. I don`t care who you are, that is a fair wack of wedge.
The misses is doing her best to spend the savings but I`m thinking I can now go and buy some properly uncompromising toys and am going to fulfil a desire to go racing next year.

^ a case of doing it right (IMO), a mile muncher for work & some cash for some toys! The misses is doing her best to spend the savings but I`m thinking I can now go and buy some properly uncompromising toys and am going to fulfil a desire to go racing next year.

If you can house 2 cars it's hard to pick holes in your logic. At least with the previous model you had that V10 soundtrack when you want to sharpen your senses a little. Nothing against forced induction at all but the new car seems to be moving further away from being a sports car into hyper barge...at 2 tonnes it's just pushing it 2 far.The misses is doing her best to spend the savings but I`m thinking I can now go and buy some properly uncompromising toys and am going to fulfil a desire to go racing next year.
Interestingly 140 kgs it's gained is exactly to what Merc have managed to lob off their new SL350.
I think it looks lovely.
Beefy and muscular angles.
However, it doesn't seem a 'raw' as the previous generation.
It's a shame that BMW M cars are going this way.
I'm a huge lover of the M5s, but, from seeing comments here on PH, it's received a bit of a mixed opinion.
I think the 1 Series M is the last iteration of a good M car...

People have mentioned that it is too expensive, people have also said that its a bargin compared to a DB9! Others say the looks and badge of the Aston are worth the premium! I say this is what you really want! Has the looks, performance, badge and price!
No mention of reliability I notice.roadwolf said:

No mention of reliability I notice.I really dont think BMW will shift many of these,if someone gave me 93k to spend on a car the last thing i would do is pop down my local BMW dealership and say "One M6 , spec me up shop keep" . Im sure once you add all the toys this will be a 100k car at least.
Lets say http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3996171.htm instead eh?

absolutely gorgeous car, but it won't hold a candle to the M6 on the performance front or interior quality. it does, however, look much nicer and is far cooler.Lets say http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3996171.htm instead eh?
depends what you want more from your GT car....looks and cool factor, or more stealthy brute.
for others saying the M6 is a rip off but saying the maser is much better.....how is the price more justified on that? is it simply because of the badge? if so.....bit shallow, no?
