Regarding the door, I guess keeping it over from the Clubman is cheaper than losing it altogether.

Probably, but it does look a bit daft.

I'm surprised they couldn't make it open properly into the load area, which might actually have been moderately useful.

I think that's really cool and the best Mini variant so far! I do think omitting the Cooper SD is a bit thick, though. That's the one I would have had!

My sister is a couple of years older than me. When she was a sixth-former, two of the men/boys in her year had the original mini vans. One thing sticks in my mind - one of those boys always kept a bale of straw in the back of his - no idea why - and you'd sometimes see a sixth-form girl picking a piece of straw out of her hair and know exactly where she'd just been. I went with RS turbo Recaros and too many 12" subs but it was the late 90s. More was more!


The extra door gives access to the area behind the seats - the rear footwell can hold a lot of crap.

I was in San Francisco a month ago and the only car that seemed to outnumber the Mini was the Prius. A fair few Fiat 500s around too, mostly with that big sunroof option.
