Black car in south Wales - looks like it's been off-roading.

Had this yesterday, it contrasts rather well with the grey streaks all down the paintwork from the rain

Same in Lowestoft. The car needs washing anyway so this will just make me do it sooner.

Same here in Worthing. I've just finished a marathon round of jobs on the new Mini - Exhaust, Wheel bearing, pads, aux belt, tyres, wheel refurb, engine and tranny oil changes, various bits of trim and was just getting to the point where a nice wash was on the cards and I woke up this morning and thought buggeritall. I'll leave it til it rains again.

Same for me in Gloucester. Spent over 3 hours yesterday washing, polishing & waxing the car only to find a layer of red dust all over the car.

Washed it off this morning & guess what? It's pissing down again!!!! Aaaaarrghhh.

Yes, I think we can pretty much establish it's UK wide so no need to post your location. hehe

What we (as in the PH collective) need to know is what's causing it?

Bizarre, I noticed this the other day. Car rarely stays out of the garage long apart from when it's at work so I was a little miffed to see the accumulated dirt on it.

As someone said earlier, it's usually sand picked up by winds in the Sahara, carried north and falling in raindrops.

Another one in Plymouth. Although the customary rain has at least washed it off
