I saw a Ferrai California with the number plate "5" in Poole on Saturday. Not sure where it was from.

Arabic script plates illegal then? Thoughts?
On the 'spotted' threads there are a lot of cars with Arabic script but they've also got, what we would call, the normal numbers on the plate. I suppose they're ok.
I would guess that the owners of these cars dont worry too much about 'local' laws. Plod stops the car, it is insured. He can't really check the plate etc, and the car is probably registered to a 'shell' company based in the Cayman Islands, so he is kinda stuck. Not worth his while pursuing it.

Even if a plod got really naffed off with it and decided to 'seize' the car, (for example if he couldnt verify insurance) then he would very quickly find himself on the receiving end of a call from the commissioner advising him to think again.

Its how the big money world works.

Do you think the average British person would bother to get their plates converted to Arabic if they went out there? It's probably not even possible to directly translate plates, since they have different letters to us.

I'd imagine it's legal.

If you take your car out there it wouldnt be allowed in before it was on on import plates.

In oman we have no letters, just numbers. we used to have 1234 but the old man gave it away when he sold his mustang frown

Mclaren smile
The MP4 something or other?. Doesn't look like any other I have seen. Don't tell me they are doing "bodykits" for them already. hehe
Yup thats one of a few "kitted" McLarens out there.. This is the Fab Design.
Mansory's offerings look a little bit worse.. Then again pretty much anything touched by Mansory looks like its been hacked to bits

I was also there yesterday having a detour on my journey home back to Birmingham, saw the blue Veyron and Agera parked up, a number of 458's driving around, 3 Mclaren's including the FAB designed one parked up, what seemed like millions of Bentley's driving around, the pink Rolls Royce and more!

Going again next weekend I think just to see the car's about.

Car's aside, the quality of women in the aren't that bad either wink

A vast majority of the exotica on foreign arab plates will belong to people who are connected or are actually part of one of the royal families...the police know they all have diplomatic passports so even if their number plates are not legal its not worth their while pulling them over..

Its also the same reason they get to dick around and not be pulled up on it.
Its all down to politics.....

i think making them put front plates on would be a good idea. The police can just have a set of sticker ones and a black marker.

It would look st, but would mean they are a bit recognisable.

Really nerdy moment, brace yourselves...

Just an observation, but looking at the Koenigsegg the rear reverse light / reflector unit appears to be the same shape as that from an 'FD' generation Mazda RX-7.

I've never owned either of those cars unfortunately..

Is that white McLaren the son's car and the security are in the Maybachs?

Genuine question. As that looks like a fleet that would drive everywhere together. smile

In Libya and Egypt you get a set of Arabic plates at the border, you don't need a direct translation, just something that works in their system. I guess some Arabic etc countries wouldn't bother as it's not often an issue or it's assumed the police will have sufficient knowledge of our alphabet.

Went to London yesterday and saw one nice car and that was the same FF as in the pics. I was in the main west wend area (picadilly, mall, traf square and Covent Garden) so less chances but the best area is around Park Lane and Kensington for car porn.

The Ferrari FF looks so mean from the front, I wish I was filthy rich.
