Back in the late 90's there was some nutter running a MI16 4 x 4 as a minicab in Henley on Thames - I remember one night, after a shandy or 2, a few us goading the driver into seeing if he could get it to over a ton between Henley and the Shiplake turnoff in return for an extra fiver on the fare. He didn't manage it but got pretty close. I remember him saying that it was so poor on fuel he was pretty much paying to go to work.
