Won't make any difference I'm afraid, they'll carry on being arrogant, ignorant aholes just the same - you're assuming they can read and if they do they read PH, saw your topic and felt suitably contrite. All highly unlikely.
Indeed, people who are not selfish, moronic ar***les wouldn't park in a disabled space in the first place if they had no legitimate reason to do so.

HAHA I had some carzy lady park me into a disabled bay a week or two ago at a client site. Ranting and raving about how a cannot park without a blue badge yada yada. Sticks her blue badge on her corsa's dash and storms off to a meeting telling me I can "just wait till she is done" and that she is going to speak to a manager and complain.

In the process she had parked the car next to me in as well who DID have a blue badge. Nice.

I didn't care. I had permission to park there from the client and to top it all off with there was clearly nothing wrong with her physically she was actually just pissed that her blue badge abuse hadn't got her free parking on site.

Oh and the site were annoyed at how she had parked and pulled her out of her meeting and told her off and made her move her car.I did actually ask if they could let her stay there in the hope that when she came back after her meeting she would get to see how little I cared and in turn wind her up even more but they declined my request.

It was a wonderfully amusing ending to my half day. Sitting out in the sun having a drink and playing on my tablet. Look on her face when she came back and saw me looking so chilled out and relaxed after being parked in for 20 mins was great.

tongue out

It's also the only place where I park in disabled bays. They know my car and can get hold of me if the bay is needed.

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure you're not entitled to some kind of disability benefit?

Well technically I may be as I have a bad back but I cant be bothered to look into it.

You can all get as worked up as you like. What I find most amusing here is you completely ignored the fact that the woman who parked me in and used a blue badge wasn't even disabled she was a blue badge abuser.
You also completely ignore the fact that if a real blue badge user had needed the parking bay, site could have asked me to move my car which I would have happily done.

In fact even though the useless sponging bb abuser didn't "need" the bay I did offer to move my car and she decided that she couldn't be bothered to move hers until told to do so by site.

I have little patience for blue badges because of people like her who seem to think its a license to park wherever she wants whenever she wants.

I live on a narrow street where two cars can just about pass and once to twice a week the street is lined with blue badge cars belonging to people going to a tiny little church.

There is disabled bays and in fact a whole huge car park 3-4 mins walk from the church but they simply cannot be bothered to use it as they are too fking lazy and would prefer to partially block the street parking on yellows and inconvenience myself and other residents.

Yes some of them are proper blue badge as they are driving their partner to the church etc and I have no issue with that but I see no reason why they cannot drop off their partner and then go park the car in the car park.

They hand blue badges out like candy these days and I have little doubt that with my back which doesnt really cause me any real bother I could get a blue badge but I see no reason to do so other to behave like a dick and expect special treatment.

There are those who need blue badges there are those that don't. There are a lot more dont's than do's.

On the other hand,
I'm in my 40s, had a blue badge for several years (I cant walk more than a few feet unaided) and during those years I've owned a selection of "modestly" flash cars.
The current one is a xkr convertible, and I've NEVER had any bad looks or spiteful comments.
I've even sat there, roof down, hoping someone might say something so I could come and post on here laugh
Most people are to self absorbed to worry about others is my experience,

I'm sure you would but how would i call site?
I couldn't open the doors open enough in a normal space to get out and into my chair.
Should I open the window and shout for help?

What about the ones at my gym who park there and then go spend an hour on the treadmill or weight lifting?
One guy always takes to 1 1/2 bays. That is just bone idleness.
As a raspberry and a blue-badge holder, when I went to the gym for my physiotherapy sessions, where would you expect me to park?

No they don't.

I've just received the new style blue-badge and I had to prove I was receiving disability benefit and had to go for a medical. So when the blue-badge expires in 2015, I'll have to go through all that nonsense again.

Good to hear. A pain in the arse for you but sadly a necessary evil to stop those who dont need them getting one.

Fair point but you could simply call them literally using a mobile which if disabled I would expect you to keep on you at all times in case you need to call for help.

Also at this site there is a barrier with security who would be able to see you or who you could call on the intercom.

I may be an arrogant arse but I am not a complete . The time I spend on site is very variable and the only other parking available is max 1-2 hr no return bays and if I am on site for the best part of the day it makes life exceptionally difficult.

I have no problem with disabled bays and whoever uses them as thankfully I don't yet need them, the following though I do have a problem with.

If you turn right out of our road onto the village high street you will see a bookmakers on the left. We get two blue badge holders both male, both look around 70ish can walk ok for thier age and both drive rover 25's! who insist on parking on double yellows just inside our road and just before a blind bend, as close to the bookies as they can get without parking on the actual high street. So when you turn into our road you are immediatly confronted by thier cars, which you cannot see before you are on top of them slamming on your brakes trying to miss cars coming the other way!

So if double yellows are there to stop you parking because it is unsafe etc, then why does it become safe if you whack a blue badge in the window?

But a blue badge does not exempt you from a ticket if the parking is deemed to be unsafe. It says so in the handbook smile

just sat here looking through mine and mine doesn't actually say that
it says;
"except where there is a ban on loading or unloading, and at a few locations where local services apply, such as parts of central london."

I get your point though- dangerous parking is dangerous parking and common sense should apply. Ther is a section on safe and responsible parking (pge 23)

Another un-related thing which boils my p*ss....

A disabled person's car tax disc will show up as 'exempt' - this is always on display. My dad has accidently failed to display the blue badge in the front window (for whatever reason) and has subsequently picked up parking tickets. Hasn't paid a single one, as on appeal they have been lifted.

But what a waste of time, a simple observation could've saved all that paperwork...
I agree, a complete waste of time and money ... but not all disabled drivers/passengers are exempt from car tax, only those in receipt of War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement and the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance. As it is a strict requirement of the scheme to display the Blue Badge when using a disabled parking facility, and the ticket issuer isn't under any obligation to check the car tax disc details, unless there is a parking concession for tax exempt cars, they see it as a fair cop.

I've also been taken to task for displaying the badge and all the other paraphernalia in the wrong area of the dashboard!

This is from the new booklet issued in Scotland, where it states you can park on double-yellows but you must also park responsibly or you may be fined.
