Car servicing from Shell, tell us what you think.
Discussion
This seems to be typical of Shell.
I joined their driver reward scheme when it started. Every three months I get some discount off my fuel, some vouchers and offers.
It seems like every time I receive something from them they have changed the rules/modified the eligibility criteria/reduced the benefit.
For the first year or so I received a nice glossy magazine with about £15 off fuel vouchers. After various stages of reduction my last communication was a single folded over card with a £5 voucher!
I'm going to start using Tesco! Cheaper fuel, higher octane and a more useful loyalty scheme!

I'm a little protective of my Octane 99.
So, anonymous OP, you've asked us several questions and I think they've all been answered in full. It'd be rude not to offer some acknowledgment of us having taken our time to help you tweak your service. Maybe as a gesture of thanks, you'd like to offer us some fuel vouchers, maybe 50 quid?

Thats often the case though - specialists can be more competitive on price due to experience and knowledge - they can do the job quicker (less hours on the invoice).
Not really. Where do you think those specialists learned their trade?? Prpbably at a main dealer for a lot of them. Independants won't have the overheads of the main dealers and can there for charge less. Simples.
