Bought and loved many of the designs he penned. Sad news. His name will live on forever.

RIP Sergio.

Very sad news, some stunning cars there.

In fact, having read the article, it states that 'he was made a Senator'- you you think they could have done something better than that really, given the designs that he was responsible for.

I think that's a pretty high honour. Our equivalent would have been to appoint William Towns to the House of Lords on a life peerage. It just shows how important car design is to te Italian nation as much as anything.

A very sad day. I wonder if Leonardo Fioravanti could be persuaded to re-enter the Pininfarina fold.

Beautiful work, most car designers will never have the opportunity to create such a portfolio of work.

How about a complete list of his designs, anyone?

That looks like the entire output of the design house, not him personally.

I know the designs of his that he was most proud of included the Ferrari 250 SWB (done when he was still in his twenties IIRC), and the Ferrari Testarossa, due to the way he solved the airflow issues around the F1-style side-mounted radiators.

Bit brief that obit. Man's a giant in the world of cars, a short walk down any road and you'll see shapes that came out of his studio. Also he was an MEP for a decade - okay well I find that stuff interesting.
More please.

I think it kinda says it all that the moment Peugeot started their downward slide, only recently arrested, was when they dumped Pininfarina as their de facto stylist and moved it all in-house instead.
