Still get a buzz out of my Mustang every time I get behind the wheel. The sound of it bouncing off drystone walls in the UK is also pretty addictive.........

LHD a total non issue. If I can drive one down narrow winding country roads in the UK and overtake with ease presumably anyone can? (apart from the tt in an Astra I encountered who panic broke everytime another car came in the opposite direction)

These are definitely my sort of cars, I like the idea of simplicity, big power and trying to tame it! I like the shape of these cars aswell but they look so damn plasticy! They just dont look good quality.

What would I rather have, a tuned/reworked 69 Camaro or stang or one of these two plastic fantastics? Answers pretty obvious really.

Of course it's not their fault that we are charged £65k for a £35k car.
This is what I was getting at. We all know the kind of price it will be when it comes here.

I'm not sure if that was sarcastic or not? How much of the increase in cost of American cars here is tax, and how much is transport etc. and "market adjustment"?

He's not saying the 2015 GT500 will have 890 bhp, i believe he's extrapolating that figure based on the 2010-2012 power jump.

What "market adjustment"?

Until very recently they've all been grey imported.
I don't know, that's why I asked. smile

They aren't in terms of soft plastics or a real luxury feel.....I'd say my Mustang, one of the later cars with improved interior, is similar in many ways to an E60 5 series ie a bit crap biggrin

Engineering wise though they are brilliantly simple and thus reliable, an appealing quality to me at least.

Are you buying my car or not?
I've been told it's the 'wrong colour'.

Not all of us have grown out of playing transformers you see wink

(I even suggested a wrap!)
Correct, that ZL1 is Rally Yellow, not the actual Sunrise Gold from the movie car wink

If only there was a RHD version of either from the factory. frown
Why?

I never understand when people post that

As to driving around in a pillbox, that's a very fair an accurate description.

That's my one biggest issue, the visibility is crap.
Get tbe convertable mustang, the visibiity is rather good!

Love these - and all muscle cars for that matter.

I think my dream two-car pairing would be an F50 and a '69 Charger.

OT: GT500 on UK shores and ready for collection at £54.5k

RHD to LHD - its no big deal, you're only 3 feet away from where some say 'you should be', I jump all day long from my corvette to my boring thing and don't notice the difference in driving position (apart from the fun that is)

These are sooo cool....

Live axles etc. So why do people get dewey eyed about Mk2 Escorts, but dislike these?
Because they fundamentally ignore the reason why Ford still put a live axle under the 'stang.... because most buyers still want it.

Drag racing is king in the US, not windy-roady-handling stuff, and a mega strong live axle is still the king when it comes to drag strip action. You only have to look at the product listings from Strange, Currie etc.

Yeah, some people don't seem to be bothered by it. Consider yourself lucky; it opens up some quite interesting cars that will never be available to me as long as I live in the UK.

Works the other way round too... if you don't mind driving RHD cars, there are some cars that you UK guys are "blessed" with that are fun to drive too smile

Probably true, but equally I can't stand driving RHD cars on the right hand side of the road either. hehe
