Not a 123D, that's what I've got and I like it.
Want the same but MORE.
Coupe, saloon, estate, hatch, doesn't matter.
Do all roads lead to 330D?

I loved my 123d too. Have you remapped your's? It's like a different car after that.
I haven't tried a manual 330d. The auto was good, but you may find it a bit laggy next to the 123d as it only has one turbo.

If you haven't already, remap your 123d to 330d power levels or above.

201 bhp and 400nm, i can think of much nicer petrols with better power delivery and more poke. Personally I'd rather have the s2000. The only advantage of diesel is economy and economy is boring

Never driven either but is 335d over 330d not the right direction?

330D for me with a remap. Might be more laggy, but you'll have an improved engine note to compensate.

OP I'd remap the 123d it possibly the best combination of power, economy and handling in its class If it must be manual. Remap a 330d they will push 309bhp Or remap a 4.0ltr v8 a8 Or well let's be honest here we all know BMW make the best diesels in the world the other makes are always playing catchup. Only this year have Audi managed a sequential turbo 3ltr... Un BMW had it in 2004. BMW now offer 3 turbos upping the game again. It's a shame BMW don't offer a proper 4ltr v8 sequential turbo beast.

My 330d is a great car, probably the best I've owned. Comfortable, quick, reliable, looks great ( it is an E46 mind) very good on fuel. It's also infinitely more boring to drive than my old 328i thanks to the engine up front. Personally I'd pick a BMW with a nice 6 cylinder engine before they start to disappear, such as a 135i or 330i. Much more fun, and not much more to run either.

It's a shame BMW don't offer a proper 4ltr v8 sequential turbo beast. They don't really need to, they make a 380bhp/560ftlb torque six cylinder to fill that niche.
