155 with the roof down in my Z4 3.0i on the autobahn a few weeks ago. Managed to sustain that speed for several minutes on a quiet section. Wind noise certainly hurts your ears though!

300kmh in a Gumpert Apollo on the taxiway at RAF Leuchars, it was still accelerating hard but I ran out of space and had to back off.
Didn't know Leuchars opened up to cars? Was it an event or something?

Around about 120mph at Thruxton in a Cayman.

On the roads, nothing spectacular but dumb enough that I won't admit to it. I've not been 'significantly' over the speed limit in a number of years now.
It was a charity event for Help for Heroes called RAF verses Rio, it involved racing Tornado jets in various hyper cars.

173 mph in my 996 Turbo in France about 8 years ago.

155 mph in my M3 in the UK about 8 weeks ago.

In both cases the cars had more on offer, however I offer no coment on where this took place :-)

Driven - indicated 130mph in my E32 735i on the way back from Le Mans 2007.

Passenger - indicated 165mph in an unrestricted E46 M3, on the way back from Le Mans the previous year.

Sort of a theme there I think you'll agree wink

Bounced my Yamaha R1 of the limiter in 6th. I'd never pull like that on the flat so this was a slightly downhill section of Autoroute in Southern France. Not sure exactly what the speed was but it started with a "2" (although probably not 100% accurate).

I once got 86 out of my old Citroen AX.

Now I've got a diesel vw bora which has seen 125, and my mom's punto which, in my hands only, has seen 135

My dad has a heavily modified fiat coupe, and before he transplated everything into a non-rusty shell we'd once seen the speedo needle bent round the stop after 160.

Scary experience, even on a track wink

I just assume that all drivers have driven their cars as fast as they will go at least once.
Recently had a phone call from a car hire firm to remind me that the little C Class diesel I was using was fitted with a tracker and an alert was flagged up at over 100. Apparently 3 mph shy of 2xNSL warrants a gentle bking, although the guy did say they also rent replacement bikes and he'd had to speak to a few riders 'close to 200' !

fk what company was that? I usually play the "How fast does the hire car go" game on a bi-weekly basis.

I think that's a wrong assumption, the only time I got near 164mph in my M3 was at Bruntingthorpe and I'm still yet to find out whether my M5 has a limiter, I know from VMax it should be good for 170ish without one but doesn't mean I've even tried.

I

It's a dodgy accident management / ambulance chasing / credit hire firm. The guy who bked me said he makes about a dozen calls a week and my 137 wasn't even the best he'd seen for a c220- I did consider trying harder, but instead set the limiter to 99.

"Hello? What? Sorry I can't talk right now.. GET OUT OF MY WAY AR*****E!.. sorry, I'm driving, can I call you back?"

Alternatively attempt to communicate with the windows down.
