The Mk3 isn't a patch on the Mk2.
Hence why I'd want a MK3 as a snotter for shed money, I just like the way that one looks but even if I'd won the euromillions I'd not spend £6k on one.

This MK2 looks nice but the price is still bonkers IMHO http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4102924.htm

Big money for the mileage, but looks ace!

My preferred spec is early 8v without PAS.

Those cars aren't historically correct (at least the E34 & E39 aren't).
Often the way with modern classics, innit?

Was disappointed by the choices Porsche made at the museum in Stuttgart re the cars from the 90s and early 00s.

Also at the new SL press launch recently, they had fab examples of old models except the '129 which was a hideous facelift model.

Serious money indeed. I've seen videos of a similar day at Monza, the noise of the GTO's / FXX's going down the main straight past the pits was just cloud9

The E34 is a 3.8 so 1992 ? and is the E39 shown a facelift model ?

It's a six speed, so 1994 build.

Mine was an '89 Jade Green 8v with the window tint option and the Montreal alloys. It was ace.

Mine was a '89 Polar Silver 16V 3 door. Thought it was quick when I was 17.

They were/are quite quick. Obviously not compared to current toys but seven-and-a-bit to sixty and 130 all out isn't too shabby. Especially from 139 bhp of 1.8-litreness.

Mine was a Tornado Red 8v 3dr.

Vmax'd it once, and over 2 miles it used 3 litres of oil yikes

For under a bag each, that's some epic waft and practicality right there.

If the silver one were a V6...

Would be my choice, however in 3dr flavour with the VR6 BBS wheels.

Epic merde for me I'm afraid. You could tempt me with an XM but the Safrance eurghh, btw my mates mum has just bought one, she went out looking for a small runabout and came back with a faclift V6, paid £450 for it with a years MOT!

My GTI was an '88 black 5dr GTI 8v, no PAS and on the (apparantley) rare factory 5 spoke alloys.

Was a cracker.
