Can't really see the appeal IMO.
So in 25 years will people be posting up ads for this, and gawping at how awesome and tasteful it is? No doubt, the answer will be a resounding 'NO', which is probably the same as what people would have said about the Nova 25 years ago.
I know what you mean, but as a wide eyed 'yoof', I was impressed by the Nova SR and the Sport. No other model in he Nova range did anything for me. They were also cheaper to insure than an XR2 at the time, and they weren't much slower really, which added to the appeal. So in 25 years will people be posting up ads for this, and gawping at how awesome and tasteful it is? The later GTE and GSi models did nothing for me either, because by then I had learned that all Vauxhalls of that era were a bit wooden to drive.

I think you'll be surprised. Nostalgia and memory plays a big part in tugging at the heart strings, and when memories become affordable the temptation is there. No way I'd pay £5k for a memory, but show me a mint example of car I fondly recall from my youth that is sub £1,000 and I might be tenpted to buy it to get it out of my system.
For me, I'd be tempted with a Cavalier, Ital etc...odd, but there you go.
I just saw a right minty C reg Montego drive past my house. It reminded me of my Dad's D reg one in which I learned how to do handbrake turns in a gravel carpark (Dad, don't read this), and in which I first saw 100 mph on a speedo (going downhill). My Dad had the super luxo spec which had amazing kit such as, er... a heater, or something.
