One owner 1.2L Nova for a bag

When I was a Driving Instructor, I had 3 of these in succession. (2x1.2 and 1 1.3 SR)
They were totally reliable and the clutches were indestructible ( I had a clutch changed due to a noisy bearing at 83,000 miles, the rest of the clutch was perfect) and the clutch could be changed in 30 minutes without removing the gearbox!

In the late 80's, I seem to remember reading an article about the 1.3 litre mk2 Astra having a slide-out plate which contained the clutch plate! They were totally reliable and the clutches were indestructible ( I had a clutch changed due to a noisy bearing at 83,000 miles, the rest of the clutch was perfect) and the clutch could be changed in 30 minutes without removing the gearbox!

Nope, it had a slide out input shaft so you could remove the clutch without removing the gearbox BUT you also needed special clips to hold the cover in the "off" position and it was only on certain boxes on the cav late 80's, you removed the end cover undid a bolt and slid out/back the input shaft Pretty handy.

That is awesome. I need that in my life!I paid £1300 for a 98 R plate Civic 1.4 SE 5dr with a genuine 25,000 on the clock a few months ago.
Not brilliant in their day, but with A/C, pas, zero rust, as new interior and fsh from the supplying garage over the last 7 years it was worth the extra. Passed mot with no advisories so cheap motoring in my book.
The Nova is a bit more basic but again, I feel part of the fun of something like this is its originality and rarity. It never turned heads then and only sad gits like us would notice its condition! Most would simply say its worth £300. But then a cars' only worth what someones willing to pay at the time - be it a Nova or a 250 GTO.

In B4 blind love proclamations for box arches.
Oh.
There is no love for this, I mean, a 1.2L? Cloth and foam headrests and a radio? Decadent frivolities. Give me a Merit with plastic frame headrests and enough plastic blanking plates to make me appreciate being aspirational, yet being toopoor tight to embrace it.
5 door as well, how practical.
I might be wrong, but was the Nova not considerably more expensive than the Chevette which it shortly was sold alongside before replacing?

I've looked at that Nova advert a few times now, I always hated Novas too but it now appeals.
This trumps it though.
