Daily drivers are 'Big Car' and 'Little Car' because I can't be arsed to think of names for them and one is bigger than the other.
Fun cars are 'Riley Blue' because it is blue and a Riley and 'Smurfie' because we already had one blue Riley.

I'm a girl and once had a 944 called 'Pixie Porsche', not really named my other cars though.

Triumph GT6 is 'The GT6' and MGB GT V8 is 'The V8'...

We have had two Rolls-Royces, the first was called Esther Dorothea and the second (current) one is the Lily Beament (both after our maternal great grandmothers). As for the rest . . . the XJS, the Aston and the Skoda! getmecoat

I'd always thought naming cars was for gheyers, but then I've ended up with my current Focus being called 'Jess II'. There was no 'Jess I' either. hehe

I find naming cars a little cringeworthy.

However I did own a Volvo named Britney, appropriate for the issues it had at a time when a certain pop starlet was busy making headlines.

I have "red car" and "purple car" which are the names my kids have given them. And having them take an interest in cars works for me.

Out of the many cars I've owned only one was ever given a name......I named my Defender Delores, no idea why, just seemed to suit it in a.....errrrrr.....manly, beast of a vehicle with a girly name kinda way.

Hate it when people mention the 'name' they've given their car when selling it. I don't want to ****ing know that you called it Mildred or bob. Keep that to yourself please. (incase I ever go crazy and decide to name it)

Yuk and double yuk. Fancy giving a poxy car a name whether male or female they are just machines to enjoy or not depending on their power to weight.
It make me want to vomit when people say things like "He has been carefully looked after and he has never let me down". Get me a gun so I can take them down.
Sorry folks I dont know why I reacted so badly to this thread.

Any machine of whatever type has always to be female because they give men trouble.

However my cars do have a name apart from the makers one, they are all called "IT".

The names I give cars is generally in relation to its numberplate. For example my CTR's numberplate is DZX so I call him Denzel(DenZel washington was in malcom X). I am sad.

Never named cars, although i was told that my old 911 came with the name Eek, due to the Numberplate (EK ****) and the fact that it popped and banged a lot and made people go "EEEK!!" as it went past ... actually quite suitable paperbag

Previous Car's have just been Rangie, Jaaaag, Merc, Datsun, Shed, fkin piece of st etc etc ....

Had an A8 and actually saying "the A8" sounds like a stutter, so we called it Herman. Seemed appropriate, really.
